This is a weblog of observations and reports, confirmed and unconfirmed, of happenings at Yellowstone National Park and other geologically sensitive regions around the world. It looks at earthquakes, global warming, weather anomalies and other earth and other earth changes. The reader is asked to read this with care and discernment as it is gathered from various alternative media sites, newsgroups as well as mainstream sources. Just because major earthquakes are not reported on the nightly news doesn't mean that they aren't happening with increased regularity. - MSW

For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places. (Matt 24:7)
And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring; Men's hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken. (Luke 21:25-26)

Updated 12 Jan 2008:
12 Jan 2008 – Ecuador's 'Throat of Fire Volcano' erupted on Thursday forcing about 700 villagers to flee. Meanwhile Mexico's Popocatepetl Volcano is putting on a spectacular show. In more interesting volcano news, scientists have got a glimpse of giant 'Volcanic' system on the Ocean floor.
Zigzagging some 60,000 kilometers across ocean floors, earth’s system of mid-ocean ridges plays a pivotal role in many workings of the planet—from its plate-tectonic movements to heat flow from the interior, and the chemistry of rock, water and air. It was not until the late 1970s that scientists discovered the existence of vast plumbing systems under the ridges, which pull in cold water, superheat it, then spit it back out from seafloor vents—a process that brings up not only hot water, but dissolved substances taken from rocks below. - Colombia University
What this may very well ultimately mean is what I was saying long ago about some of the changes we are seeing in the polar regions. Namely that melting of the ice is more and not less likely based on this new information, caused by underwater heating of the earths surface which effects water temperature in the polar regions. What I was saying back in 2006 (see June 26th Entry this page and many before, keyword to find on this page is 'arctic') is that the melting has far less to do with CO2 emissions, a theory which has been bolstered by the political agenda of certain of our Global elite, but with seismic and perhaps solar activities that are outside of mans ability to control. This kind of discovery should really enter the debate on global warming, but it does not fit with the prearranged conclusion being put forward by our news media and our elite and thus is not covered with any depth in the major news media.
Also of note are some freak tornado's the US has experienced in the month of January, not a time usually associated with these dangerous, killer storms.
Vancouver had one on the 11th.
Tuscaloosa County had one last week as well.
Storms from Illinois to Louisiana are spawning rare January tornados, including one twister that tossed a bus onto the roof of a school full of children.
The bus was sucked into the tornado's funnel in Caledonia, Miss. The huge vehicle was hurled like a toy on top of a high school gymnasium about 2 p.m. when students were still in class. - ABC
There was some notable damage done in these storms, as this story demonstrates.
Strange weather for strange times.
5 Jan 2008 – Well, a friend of mine who regularly visits my site politely asked me how the 'Earth Changes' blog was coming along. He asked me coyly probably knowing I had not updated in almost 18 months. Why did it go away? The reasons are many, but I was getting a lot of criticism from a lot of folks who didn't like it or wanted to keep the kinds of links and views I expounded off the net or at least from wide dissemination. I also had numerous technical issues that seemed to track back to some rather, let us just say 'interesting' places. The result was I decided it was time to pour my energies into other things. That is not to say that issues of Earth Changes has lost its importance. It clearly hasn't, as the recent quakes in Chile, and the around Sumatra have demonstrated.
Also, we should note that the rather extreme solar activity we had seen in the first half of this decade has died down considerably in recent months. Volcanic activity continues unabated and other weather related disasters seem to be growing in frequency. So while the Earth Changes will be covered in this blog, other issues directly related to those changes will also be covered, namely food shortages, environmental degradation, and refugee crisis when those crisis are environment driven. With that said... here goes.
___
It looks like Solar Cycle 24 is about to begin, at least according to the Solar Influences Data Center in Belgium.
The first solar-cycle-24 sunspot group has further developed
and is now numbered as NOAA active region 981. No flaring activity is
expected in the coming few days. Meanwhile the solar wind has increased
roughly from 300 to 600 km/s, due to a recurrent coronal hole, and has
triggered geomagnetic activity at the K=4 level. These active
geomagnetic conditions are expected to persists till early next week. - SDIC
Given the extreme nature of solar activity over the past couple of years, it could mean that we are in for more Solar Instability.
Meanwhile, There is a major volcanic eruption going on in Chile that caused evacuations. In other volcano news, residents near the famous Indonesian 'Mud Volcano' have been forced to flee it.
"It's not a serious problem," he said, adding that unlike thousands of others who have been forced to evacuate the region in the last 18 months, with dozens of villages and factories roof-deep in mud, "they will not receive any compensation."
Mud volcanoes are fairly common along volatile tectonic belts and in areas rich in oil and natural gas like Indonesia. - IHT
In the Arctic, there is a battle being waged between the Polar Bears and the Oil Conglomerates.
Polar
bears, which have been getting a lot of attention as news stories
appear about a more-rapidly-than-expected melting North Polar ice
cap, could get Endangered Species Act protection shortly, according
to the National Audubon Society.
The possible listing by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service could happen at the same time that the Bush Administration opens more parts of their habitat to oil and gas drilling.- The Tennessean
29 July 2006 – It seems that there is no end to man's destructive activity to the planet on which we live.
“The "Dead Zone" off the Louisiana coast mapped this week is 6,662 square miles — or about the size of Connecticut and Rhode Island combined, Dr. Nancy Rabalais, Chief Scientist for Northern Gulf of Mexico Hypoxia Studies reported on Friday. The low oxygen waters extended from near the Mississippi River to the Louisiana/Texas border”. - AP
This is caused, according to the article from agricultural runoff. Man's shortsightedness is slowly killing our Oceans.
Volcanic Activity seems to be growing every day. Indonesia again seems to be a place of such activity. Now it is Mount Karangetan
More than 3,000 villagers fled to safety Friday after Mt. Karangetan on Northeast Sulawesi's Siau island began belching hot gas and lava. - Jakharta Post
In the Philippines, the threat of forest fires because of the Lava flows is a problem. Mount Mayon Volcano has caused 40,000 villages to flee their homes as the volcano bellows tons of ash and sulfur dioxide, at the rate of over 6000 tons a day.
Well, it seems that I have not been completely off base with some of my conjectures. Scientists have discovered a new type of volcano that may be causing some of the large quakes in the Western Pacific.
A series of mysterious eruptions in the western Pacific could be caused by a new type of volcano, a new study suggests. - MSNBC
The article goes on to say that this phenomenon has been suggested in the past but never 'fully documented'. I suspect that this activity has increased and this is why we are seeing so much volcanic and earthquake activity around the world and in this region particularly. I also suspect that these kinds of volcano's, if located in the proper regions could account for some of the polar icecap melting we have seen if the heated waters circulate into these regions.
Meanwhile, earthquake activity has hardly abated. On Thursday, 27 July a 6.1 quake hit offshore Sumatra. And on the following day another 6.1 hit Taiwan as well as a moderate 4.5 off the Hawaiian Islands.
Finally, there is an interesting story on the Discovery Page on the potential for quakes along the eastern sea board. The source? The New Madrid Fault line
26 June 2006 - Global warming is in my estimation a fraud. It isn't that the earth isn't showing marked signs of warming, it most certainly is. But the cause of that warming has been cleverly misstated by the establishments scientists. That is, those scientists that get their funding from big named foundations that are hooked in with the very wealthy and very powerful men who have an agenda to amalgamate power in the hands of international and global institutions, in short, what is euphemistically called the New World Order. I noticed a story out of Japan that shows scientists have found the truth behind the shrinking icecap glaciers. It is ocean warming not the atmospheric type put forth by the elite's scientists. Yet the story was not covered in the US, indeed it is almost impossible to find if you do not know what you are looking for.
A group of researchers said Thursday that the drastic ice shrinkage in the Arctic Ocean from 1997 to 1998 was triggered by the flow to the area of warm water from the Pacific Ocean, not by atmospheric impact as previously thought. - Kyodo News Service
It is interesting to see that this theory is not new, it is just not blazoned across the headlines in the worlds newspapers as the 'pop science' notions are. If these headlines were, they would make people rethink the solutions that the elite have planned. Here is a paper that should be talked about more but isn't because it isn't Kyoto Treaty 'friendly'.
The earthquakes around the world are increasing as well as volcanic activity. There is just too much to cover here and you can find some of the latest news at Yahoo's Volcano page. There is definitely a lot going on.
What is happening with the slowly dying Lake Victoria in Africa? Why it is drying up is covered in my PESR for the spring (page 33ff). If you want to see a real man-made environmental catastrophe in action it is here. Forget about the global warming hot air being bantered about by our elite. These are the same people that have created a real human tragedy at this massive lake which sits at one end of the Nile.
28 May 2006 – Several notable quakes have been noted in the Baja Californa Region. Heads up to California residents!
The Volcano at Comoros is now spewing lava and residents are fleeing.
27 May 2006 - A powerful quake has hit Russia's far east on the 23rd of May. It has disrupted electricity and water supplies. Another strong quake hit Indonesia also today.
The Volcano in Indonesia is now spewing ash and Lava. It remains a danger. People returned to their villages late last week not may be in danger. In other volcanic activity, Monterrat's volcano threatens the region with Tsunami's. However the news today is most troubling, a 6.2 earthquake in Indonesia has already claimed 2700 lives. The toll is still rising rapidly as of this writing. The quake may bring about a volcanic eruption on Mt. Merapi
Yogyakarta is in the heartland of Indonesia's main island of Java and stands near Mount Merapi, a volcano that has been on top alert for a major eruption this month. A vulcanologist in Yogyakarta said the quake was not caused by the volcano, but Merapi's activity increased after the shock. - Swiss Info
The scary thing is that three more volcano's are also showing signs of eruption.
Floods continue to make headlines as Massachusetts's is still reeling from floods, the worst in 70 years. Thailand is also experiencing sever flooding which has claimed 62 lives.
28 April 2006 - 400 Dolphins have washed up dead in Tanzania. While poisoning has been ruled out the US navy is investigating the possibility that their sonar may have been responsible.
In the United States, experts were investigating the possibility that sonar from U.S. submarines could have been responsible for a similar incident in Marathon, Fla., where 68 deep-water dolphins stranded themselves in March 2005. A U.S. Navy task force patrols the East Africa coast as part of counterterrorism operations. A Navy official was not immediately available for comment, but the service rarely comments on the location of submarines at sea. - AP
In another testament to our dying oceans, starfish off the coast of Vancouver are dying and the Coral in the Carribean are dying.
There has been some more volcanic activity
Indonesia's thundering Mount Merapi, one of the most dangerous volcanos in the Pacific "Ring of Fire" spewed ash and small rocks on Friday and experts fear it could erupt anytime. - Reuters. More can be found here. This will cause a lot of people to have to flee.
Lake Chad is receding, the same is true of Lake Victoria and this has caused fishermen in Uganda to be left 'high and dry'. Drought and global warming are the suspected culprits in these tragedies.
While drought is a serious problem in East Africa, flooding is a serious problem in Eastern Europe.
The overflow of the Danube River and its tributaries in April flooded 144,211 hectares in 17 Romanian counties, with large regions in southern Romania still under water and more than 15,000 people evacuated from their homes, the Agriculture Ministry said in a press statement Friday.- MediaFax
This does seem rather interesting to me that on the same day that Romania legalized Witchcraft, the flooding began in earnest. Romania now is by far the hardest hit in these flooding tragedies. Lesson; don't mess around in with the devils tools.
6 April 2006. A volcano in Tanzania has erupted. It is known locally as the 'Mountain Of God'.
The Quake in Iran may have left the newsrooms as a story, but the victims are still suffering. Kuwait has turned out to be the largest donor. Minor temblors have hit many parts of the globe but these past few days, I have been following stories about flooding. There is a major flood in Central Europe presently that has claimed many lives. Der Spiegel, the excellent German Magazine has an English subsection to its site and covers this here. The BBC has some good pictures as well. A State of Emergency has been declared in Serbia, Hungary, and the Czech Republic. Now you tell me this is not a major story! You can't get too many folks in the US to see it as such. But flooding is occurring in Australia as well,
A quarter of Katherine is already submerged following heavy monsoonal rains that have forced the evacuation of 600 residents. News.au
The US is not immune, the city of Fargo has been flooded by the Red River. San Mateo California has called a state of Emergency for flooding when cracks appeared in a state Highway. Tulare California saw a levee break and flooding threatens but has not damaged some homes.
The Canadian City of Winnipeg is bracing for floods from the same 'red river' threat that Fargo faces.
A more serious threat is the million people at risk in the Former Soviet Republic, now the nation of Georgia.
The situation was particularly bad now because of heavy winter snow. "As soon as the temperature rises the snow will melt. If it rains at the same time then the floods and subsequent landslides would be very serious." The Guaridan
This is certainly a situation that bears watching closely.
Flooding has also hit parts of Uganda. Kampala is paralyzed with flooding from rainfall.
16 March 2006. Other than a few major rumbler's as the 6.8 quake that took place on 13 March in Indonesia the earth has not shown a marked increase in seismic activity. However the weather does seem to be making up for it. Europe has seen a great deal of weather chaos as this article from Gernmay's Spiegel describes (in german). Flooding, heavy snow fall are all part of the scene. Eastern Europe as well has seen torrential rainfall and flooding as this article describes. more here. In the US, tornado's are in the news as some recent twisters have destroyed homes and claimed lives.
It should be no surprise that scientists are now linking smog to arctic warming, I won't comment, here is a link.
Drought
is still a major issue in parts of Africa. Kenya will be affected for
years to come says this BBC
article. AllAfrica (a great
site) has also covered this issue and here
is a great article
originally
published in The Nation (Nairobi). Somalia
is effected by drought as well. This is an issue that the western
periodicals is largely ignoring. But drought is also effecting large
portions of America. Farmers have had to deal with rising energy
prices but now will have to deal with rising water prices as well.
In
all likelihood, water will supplant energy as our most critical
natural resource within the next 15 years. The United Nations has
already predicted that by 2020, water -- and not oil -- will be a
source of conflicts in the world. - Ag
Weekly
But cities like Phoenix are looking at the problem with a broader view realizing that the problem is as much about drought as it is about overall supply, as this article describes. The Coloradoan makes a bold call to end the water addiction. Articles in local publications are plentiful, national coverage has been lacking, to say the least. There is a drought in the western US and it may have been partly to blame for the recent wildfires. So next time you pour some water out of your tap, don't take it for granted that it will always be there at dirt cheap rates.
14 February 2006. There has been a lot of activity in the realm of earth changes but the number and intensity of earthquakes seems to have subsided ever so slightly. The stories these days are coming more from a meteorological perspective. Russia and Ukraine have been caught in a bitterly cold winter that have caused an energy row between the two. Indeed the winter has been so severe that it is estimated the 30% of Russia's crops have been destroyed. The American North East has seen a storm with record snowfall. The Glaciers in the Swiss Alps continues to melt and the beautiful resort is threatened.
Last year, 84 of the 91 glaciers studied got smaller, while the seven remaining ones did not change. These measurements confirm the results of previous studies, which clearly showed most Swiss glaciers shrinking. - Xinhua
If that weren't enough, forecasters are predicting yet another busy hurricane season this year. From an interesting report I quote:
PROBABILITIES FOR AT LEAST ONE MAJOR (CATEGORY 3-4-5) HURRICANE LANDFALL ON EACH OF THE FOLLOWING COASTAL AREAS:
1) Entire U.S. coastline - 81% (average for last century is 52%)
2) U.S. East Coast Including Peninsula Florida - 64% (average for last century is 31%)
3) Gulf Coast from the Florida Panhandle westward to Brownsville - 47% (average for last century is 30%)
4) Above-average major hurricane landfall risk in the Caribbean
***End Quote***
It certainly looks like 2006 is going to be another busy and destructive year. It isn't as if last year was uneventful. Property Insurance claims topped 56 Billion dollars in 2005.
Oil and gas companies are looking to move into the arctic now and one is already working on extracting natural gas from the Arctic. As the Arctic thaws, business opportunities in the region will thrive. So says this Times article. Is this a good idea? The need for energy is real no doubt about it. But what is it going to take for mankind to really begin serious investment in alternative energy?
Finally Michal Mandville's site has some most interesting information on the Earth's Wobble. His calculations show it has all but ceased, but this is not necessarily a good thing. As I am not as familiar with Chandlers wobble and the history of its motion. I will pass you on to two of Michael's links but fair warning to the reader, his religious views are decidedly new age and those views creep into his analysis from time to time.
The other is at his Yahoo group site.
21 January 2006: I apologize for not updating this page. As Many of you know I took a hiatus from writing. I am back at about 80% 'production capacity'.
The past few weeks has seen some interesting if not necessarily newsworthy events. One is the eruption of the Volcano in Alaska, which as of the 18th was still bellowing a plume of smoke. There has also been an eruption of a Volcano in the Sandwich Islands. The event was preceded by some moderate quakes, which of course is not unusual. Baja California was rattled by a 6.7 quake that was fortunately off shore and caused no damage.
There was an event on the 1st of January that was extremely interesting and troubling. A few minuets after midnight there was a global tectonic event that was extremely anomalous. This event then set of moderate quakes around the world. This is very troubling. The Earth has not settled now since the massive quake and tsunami of 2004. Moderate and strong quakes continue to plague the region around Andaman and Nicobar. Sizable quakes have been recorded around the pacific basin and these things are quite troubling to those of us who must dwell between the earth and sky.
One site I visit regularly (which has a decidedly 'New Age' slant) is Michale Mandeville's. He has been tracking these events for a long time and has even been interviewed on the History Channel. He has been following the fluctuations in the Earth's rotation. This phenomenon is called 'Chandlers Wobble'. This wobble, according to Mandeville, is taking on an increasingly erratic form. Warning! This site is exceedingly 'New Age', but very informative on certain scientific issues and is recommended to extremely 'discerning' readers. There may very well be a correlation between recent tectonic events and Chandlers Wobble, however lacking a scientific background, I cannot say for sure.
I look for 2006 to be an important year in the arena of Earth Changes. I also look for some major (as in humongous) changes politically and economically in 2006. Some of what I expect can be found here. As a friendly heads up only to those of you who read this blog I give you a special little tidbit of information that you may find practical and useful. It has nothing to do with Earth Changes.
Bank Of America and Compass Bank managers (probably all other U.S. banks too) have been instructing their employees in the last few weeks on how to respond to customer demands in the event of a collapse of the U.S. economy - specifically telling the employees that only agents from the Department Of Homeland Security will have authority to decide what belongings customers may have from their safe deposit boxes - and that precious metals and other valuables will not be released to U.S. citizens. The bank employees have been strictly prohibited from revealing the banks’ new "guidelines" to anyone. (however, employees have been talking to friends and family)The next time you visit your bank, ask them about it - then ask yourself, why is this information being kept secret from customers and the public - what’s really going on? - Link to story
Finally, the Oklahoma wildfires may be the result of some tectonic changes. How do I come up with that, you might ask? Well there have been numerous reports of natural gas (methane) leaks coming from underground in the region. One newsgroup posted a story that some firefighters were unable to put the fires out because the shovels of dirt put on the fire simply started to burn. This is certainly not indicative of an ordinary fire. It is difficult to argue with eyewitness testimony especially in this world where the US media organs are little more that government propaganda outlets.
14 Dec: A geophysicist at the US Department of Energy predicts the possibility of a 'big one' in California, big as in a 10.0 earthquake. Well, the scientist really was discussing interesting predictive theories that may help to give warning. The article, certainly worth reading, can be found here.
Ethiopian and American scientists have concluded that a new fissure found in Ethiopia could be a new ocean.
Researchers from Britain, France, Italy and the United States have been observing the 37-mile long fissure since it split open in September in the Afar desert and estimate it will take a million years to fully form into an ocean, said Dereje Ayalew, who leads the team of 18 scientists studying the phenomenon. - AP
A
dam burst in Missouri and the situation is described as very
dangerous. Cars
and homes have been washed away. Some believe that this has
happed because of recent micro-quakes that have recently
occurred here.
There has also been some interesting quake
activity lately. Romania,
New
Zealand and Pakistan
have all recently received some jolts over the past couple of days,
not to mention the regular 5.0+ activity that seems to remain in the
region of last years Tsunami.
Finally, the North Pole is migrating. It will be in Russia before you know it.
Magnetic poles have been known to migrate and sometimes even swap places, scientists maintain. However, this unexplained phenomenon is even more amazing this time round, Stoner said because the north pole had remained fairly stable during the previous four centuries.- Earth Times
7 Dec: The Volcano in Vanuatu has erupted. This is one of the worlds most dangerous volcanoes and thousands of residents have been forced to flee more here and here.
There is still a hunt underway for survivors of the massive quake in Central Africa. Interestingly, the Congo is also beset by Volcanoes. Aftershocks still plague the region.
On another note, it seems amazing to me how silly the global warming debate can get. Here is one that says Global warming affects women more than men! These loopy activists now want 'Climate Gender Justice! What else is being blamed on 'Global Warming? Hold on to your noses, it is Cow flatulence! Yes, we find that scientist are actually putting this forward as a theory. It seems every nutjob on the planet thinks they have something to gain by getting on the bandwagon.
For those of you who are worried about the supposed 'bird flu' pandemic. Here is something new to worry about. Scientists say the bird flu drug is useless. In my personal opinion is that this 'pandemic' is overblown. The possibility of some sort of financial scam has occurred to me more than once.
5. Nov. - Today, we are going to go into the 'twilight zone' for a moment. Here is almost intriguing link that you may find interesting. There is a video and an audio interview too at the end of the linked page. This is rather freaky but most of you will at least find this interesting. You be the judge. Sorry to get off the beaten track but I found this too interesting not to pass along.

In other Earth Changes news, the huge floating iceberg in Antarctica has broken apart. Another interesting story can be found here on 'melting mountains' and how climate change is recking havoc on some beautiful landscapes.
As far as melting ice in Greenland is concerned, there seems to be conflicting data on just how much the ice sheet in Greenland is actually shrinking. The European Space Agency has conducted research for over a decade and their conclusions are interesting. Their research shows that the ice sheet is actually growing on the island's interior. More can be found here.
18 Oct. - Over the past couple of weeks there have been numerous reports of strange smells from around the nation and world.

One Catholic site likened what is happening to 'Miasma'. A phenomenon noted during the days of the Black Death (bubonic plague). Whatever is happening, it is happening in Africa as well. Something appears to be happening under the surface of the earth. This is why I believe we are seeing such a rapid change in climate the world over. Ocean currents may be effected by this and this may be why we have seen the Arctic melt at an alarming rate. Look around the world at the rise in volcanic activity. El Salvador, New Guinea and even Oregon have seen increased volcanic and volcanic related activity. Around the world there has been a great deal of geologic instability. What is even more notable, from my point of view, is the silence coming out of the USGS and other agencies around he world. No one is really talking about it. Some have speculated that the reason for these smells is that the earths plates may be moving and that as this happens gases trapped in the earth are released. If the earths plates are moving and if scientists were aware that many more devastating quakes were a certainty and that some may claim hundreds of thousands of lives, how anxious do you think they would be to tell the average Joe? Why has no one (in an official capacity) tried to honestly explain the significant increase in devastating quakes and volcanic activity. The silence is what causes no little concern to me.
12 Oct -There has been just too much activity to cover.
Antipodal Quakes seem to indicate far more instability in the earth that we are being led to believe. Major quakes are happening within hours of each other and have led many to believe that the earth may be getting ready for a polar reversal. ECTV also is saying the same things. Just about everyday we are seeing 5.0 quakes somewhere around the globe. We have seen two major quakes in a very short time span in Peru and Kashmir. Something is happening and obviously the USGS must have been issued some kind of gag order by DHS to not explain what is happening, lest people panic. Notice that Dick Cheney has his underground bunker built. Folks, can laugh if they want but remember this, those of you who know your bibles and those of you who mock us who do, a polar shift is coming according to the bible and everything on God's prophetic timetable is happening right on time, just like the bible said it would.
Meanwhile volcanic activity is growing worldwide. It was a the rumblings of a volcano that caused the mudslide that killed 1400 in Guatamala. Three Volcano's in Alaska are waking up. Guatemala also has seen volcanic eruptions. Yes the activity is growing by the day. Floods in Britain, starvation in Zimbabwe, earthquakes in Kashmir, strange solar activity, what is it going to take to get people to believe what Christ said? I know what it will take for some. Severe Tribulation and brothers and sisters, it is coming to America as well. But for most, they will never see because it will require that they give up their pet sins, their child molestations, sodomies, thefts, torture, lies, greed, hate, adultery, drug abuse, alcoholism, witchcraft and rebellion. Most people will never part with these evils and will thus be destroyed when God finally says...
ENOUGH! I am sick of looking at your evils. Away with you. I never want to see you or hear from you again!
2 Oct. - There has been so much activity over the past two weeks that I would need to write a book! Of interest is an earthquake in Ethiopia that has awakened a long dormant volcano. The quake caused lava and ash to spew from the volcano. Additionally here have was a major 7.5 quake in Peru that left thousands homeless. A volcanic eruption in El Salvador on Oct 1 buried two farmers and authorities have evacuated the area. Of course the region of the Christmas Tsunami has not settled down as a 6.7 quake on the 29th of September demonstrates. Russia has also experienced a major quake this month in the Far East.
Also a cluster of quakes in Idaho has been noted by geologists and were felt by residents. The strongest quake in years hit the Cascades on Sept 30, it measured 4.0. A long and detailed report has been written for those interested in Seattle and Cascade fault scenarios. It can be found here. Folks what is happening in the New Madrid area is also of concern. Scientists are saying that it is a matter of when not if a 'big one' occurs here.
Poppycock! That is my opinion of much of the 'science' used to support the 'pop-notion' of global warming. While I do not dispute that there has been a slight rise in the earth's temperature over the past 30 years, I have pretty much rejected the idea that this is entirely or even primarily a man-made phenomenon. I think there are many other reasons for this. Solar activity and a high degree of geologic activity (magma) under the earths surface may also contribute to changing ocean temperatures thus compounding the problem. For those of you who have not been completely brain washed by the constant drone of propaganda coming from the 'bought and paid for' scientists who are given air time on the major news networks, I will pass in this link to an interesting and informative one-hour round table by some other experts. One was part of the UN panel on climate change. I highly recommend you give it a listen. It can be found here. There are economic and political reasons this agenda is being pushed so hard by our elite, it has very little to do with 'saving the planet'. Raping the planet yes, saving it, I don't think so.
15 Sept: Stan Deyo has issued an earthquake warning for the entire Indian Ocean area. Stan believes that activity in this region could trigger earthquake and volcanic events world wide.
On the subject of Volcano's scientists believe that a bulge in Oregon may be the beginnings of a new volcano. Experts are also warning that a volcano in El Salvador is in the verge of an eruption. Other Vulcan happenings include a decrease in fishing in Alaska from an excess of Ash and other debris from Mount Chiginagak.
Yet in another more interesting development, scientists are declaring that a slow seismic slip is underway in the Pacific Northwest, possibly increasing earthquake risk;
"The probability of occurrence of a megathrust earthquake is about 30 times higher during this approximately two-week window, than during the rest of the 14.5 month cycle," Cassidy told LiveScience. "Having said that, 30 times a small number is still a small number." - Live Science
I will not belabor you with Katrina news. I have two updates on it that deal with the tragedy but not from an 'earth changes' perspective. But the damage from Katrina may pale in comparison to a 'big one' hitting southern California, so says this article from the AP.
1 Sept. – It seems clear that while the Department of Homeland Security has been preparing to intern thousands of people in Concentration Camps, it hasn't prepared to the kinds of Natural Disasters that FEMA is charged with taking care of. So have these shelters been built? Where are they, who got the money? Did they spend on fulfilling the contract or on Russian hookers? (don't laugh, impeccable sources tell me this is where more than a little of the Iraq money has gone).
It is hard not to criticize the ill- prepared and seemingly disorganized manner rescue operations are being conducted. Having known for years that this could happen. There appears to have been little planning. This is not a slam against the rescue workers who are risking all to help but against the policy makers whose job it is to run these operations.
In fact when the Bush administration had to make a hard choice between fixing the Levee's and spending billions on no-bid contracts in Iraq. They chose the Iraq contracts and making Cheney even richer.
While international offers of aid to assist have been tendered, DHS has not responded to other nations who want to assist. Why? How many more corpses must float in the Gulf before the Bush administration brings in someone who knows what they are doing? Since the residents of New Orleans are predominantly black, I don't think we will see much real help anytime soon, not unless Halliburton gets a large slice of the contracting pie. Is this how America prepares for the coming Earth Changes? If so we are all in deep trouble. More here.

31 August – Well, America has been hit and hit hard by Katrina. I will not belabor the tragedy by talking too much about it. I expect many more evils to transpire as our earth changes and America falls into grater decadence and spiritual evil. Let it be noted that New Orleans was the Voodoo and witchcraft capital of America. It was a city known for its excesses and now suffers from the excess of water which may completely submerge the city. While many of you like to mock God's people when they warn, here is my word to you. Repent or YOU are next! The time of DELAY is over.
I will take the flack from many of you who hate Sorcha Faal and link to three interesting articles. Those Big Time 'alternative news' sites that claimed she did not even really exist have been forced to 'eat crow' as she has traveled to and spoken here in the US recently. While I cannot vouch for the authenticity of some of her statements, she has a very different take on global events and her articles are packed with interesting links.

24 August - Extreme Weather in Europe. Fires, floods and drought are being noted across Europe, an Insurance periodical has noted.
21 Aug - No words today, just a picture and a link.

Earthquake
activity in the past 8-30 days Click map for more information.
Here is an interesting and excellent site that shows has a graphic look at the world with maps, chars and graphs. Click here.
12 Aug - While surfing I came across some interesting items from a news group that Fish are dying in massive amounts in certain areas of Florida Waters. Other strange things are happening with the fish in Florida waters.
Also the same thing has been happening near Oregon.
Millions of dead fish are washing up on the Texas Coast as well.
One must wonder how soon this prophecy will come to pass;
And the third part of the creatures which were in the sea, and had life, died; and the third part of the ships were destroyed. - Revelation 8:9
These are frightful times indeed...
2 August - The Volcanic Activity around the world seems to be imcreasing, at least to these 'untrained' eyes. The Ash plume at the Anatahan Volcano reached 34,000 ft. Mexico's Popocatepetl Volcano has erupted again as well as a volcano on a Nicaraguan island.
On another note, Scientists are seeing more dead birds and fewer fish on the pacific coast. Why?
Researchers have also reported a sharp increase in dead birds washing up in California, Oregon and Washington. Along Monterey Bay in Central California, there are four times the usual number of dead seabirds, said Hannah Nevins, a scientist at Moss Landing Marine Laboratories. “Basically, they're not finding enough food, and they use up the energy that's stored in their muscles, liver and body fat,'' Nevins said. - South Florida Sun Sentinel
Drought is a series problem in Illinois and recent rains have not helped.
The driest areas are in northern Illinois, extending down the Illinois River valley, but almost all of Illinois has been declared a drought disaster area, making farmers eligible for federal assistance in the form of low-interest loans. In addition, the drought has worsened in Wisconsin and eastern Iowa. In Missouri, officials are considering sending in a request for all counties in that state to receive aid as well. - The Lincoln Courier
This has affected crops especially corn.
"Corn has really been hit. At the very least, the number of kernels around the ear have been pushed back. And the beans are under stress too. Pulling close to average in bean yields is as good as we can hope for. A lot will depend what happens in August." - The Lincoln Courier
Missouri as well is under drought advisories and Nebraska is still suffering from drought conditions. In some areas the problem is that the Colorado River cannot meet increasing demands placed on it and the heatwave has reduced expectations for a bumper wheat harvest this year in Colorado. But as the drought has spread to places like Iwoa, the prices for some commodities will rise in price.
Temperatures in the western Midwest will reach 100 degrees (37.8 Celsius) regularly for the next two weeks, and rainfall will be below normal, said Al Peterlin, a meteorologist in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, for DynamicPredictables.com. Soils will dry rapidly, stressing crops, said Peterlin, a former top meteorologist at the U.S. Department of Agriculture. - Bloomberg
I need not tell any of you that the famine in Niger is due to drought as well as locusts. The drought also is effecting food production in nearby Mauritania.
25 July - Several notable Quakes have occurred
The nation as a whole is in the grip of a heat wave.
Sorcha Faal has an interesting update on confirmed Anthrax infections in the US.
19 July - Is this the real cause of global warming? EU scientists have linked increased radiation from the Sun with global warming. Read about it here.
A mystery is reported on about the ground in an area in Southern California that has ground temperatures above 500 degrees. I am no geologist, and do not have access to all kinds of reports that are restricted to the scientific priesthood, but I wonder if there is not a lot of lava traveling under the surface of the earth in this area causing a rise in temperature. The earth has changed since th 9.3 quake in December and we have seem a marked increase in moderate quakes the world over.
18 July – There has been a lot of interesting earthquake activity over the past few days.
A 5.5 quake rattled Myanmar (Burma) historic temples
A 3.0 quake shook Mt. Saint Helens and triggered a plume of ash.
A 5.6 quake jolted West Timor
A 5.2 quake hit the Big Island of Hawaii, which was followed by another 2.3 trembler.
France has been hit by a plague of locusts and they have been devouring everything from crops to flowers. More can be found here.
12 July - Scientists are finally getting a look at what really causes sea levels to rise using some new tools. Because so many people's lives depend on a relatively small rise in seal levels this study could be quite important.
I found and interesting report on Arctic Climate Change that some of you may find interesting. It can be found here. Many scientists believe that this warming will cause the earths oceans to rise. It will be most interesting to see exactly how all of the information is collated, interpreted and ultimately used. If Kyoto is any indication, then we are in big trouble!
The politicization of this issue and the lack of real debate as opposed to the false debate we are given is truly amazing. That something momentous is happening to the planet is beyond question. That Mankind is having a seriously negative effect on the planet is as well, beyond question. The real issue, as I see it is that debate has been hijacked by those who wish to use these issues to further their own agendas . The UN, to further amalgamate power and perhaps obtain additional revenues via taxation, the Oil companies and large international corporations to shift debate to (probably) insoluble problems such as nebulous 'climate change' and 'global warming' and devising solutions that shift energy intense activities to labor markets that have far less stringent environmental regulations and labor prices. When one visits third-world nations, many places have raw chemicals and sewage running through the poorest of neighborhoods and drinking water that is often contaminated. This is where efforts should be directed to solve the solvable on an international scale. Instead, given the current Kyoto paradigm, these tragedies will be duplicated in even more places as industries will be forced to relocate to these regions because of this poorly constructed protocol which will exacerbate rather than solve our climate and pollution problems. One post from a news group sums it up well. A link to it is here.
This debate must include the looming oil and energy crisis that is now in its early stages. Will it? Probably not. Our leaders seem to have a pathologic aversion to anything remotely resembling the truth and will latch on to any lie that puts money in the pockets of the rich.
5 Jul - Could more of these be the real cause of Global Warming of the earth's oceans?
A strong 6.7 quake hit the tsunami stricken region of Sumatra today.
3 July - Several quakes of note have happened along the coast in central America and Mexico over the past few days, dates are included in the links.
What does all of this mean? Who knows. If there is a relationship between these quakes and the crack in the earth that transpired in Texas then there may very well be some very dangerous events in the not too distant future as part of the North American plate may be about to break away. For more see Sorcha Faal's 28 June update here. Some are predicting a Tsunami on the West Coast of the North American Continent.
24 June - A massive crack in the Earth in Texas has been photographed, see here.
23 June – The past few days have seen some minor quake activity in diverse places around the globe.
To follow up on the activity in Illinois, some scientists believe that the central US may be due for a major quake in the next few years.
The volcano at Anatahan is erupting again emitting a thick could of ash and smoke while another volcano on Sarigan Island may erupt as some tectonic activity seems to suggest.
17 June – Another strong quake hit off the coast of Northern California this morning, it measured a 6.6. These quakes, the volcanic activity in Mexico as well a creeping magnetic polar reversal have scientists perplexed.
Stay tuned, things are getting very interesting.
16 June – Well, one reader pointed out the straight line configuration of the latest quakes in California. It is indeed most interesting in light of some of Sorcha Faal's recent revelations and in light of the todays moderate quake. See the map for yourselves.
15 June – A major quake occurred off the coast of California. It measured 7.0 a Tsunami warning was issued but was later canceled. The USGS has a forecasting service for this region that can be found here.
14 June – As most of you know there was a moderate quake in Southern California on Sunday. I was on the phone with a family member who lives in that area when it happened, it was of very short duration . There have been hundreds of aftershocks since then. As usual, Sorcha Faal has a most interesting update on this and the recent major quake in Chile, which killed 8. As will all of Sorcha's stuff, discernment is called for as well as some time to explore her interesting links.
10 June - Volcanic eruptions in Mexico and Papua New Guinea are in the news today. The Langila Volcano is dumping ash on villagers and aid is on the way. In Mexico, the famous Volcano of Fire is spewing rock and ash in a Friday morning in a spectacular display.
Also there were floods in China that caused significant loss of life as well as floods in Somalia that killed 40.
Drought is spreading in Eritrea and causing poverty. This coupled with a war with Ethiopia has caused serious problems for the African nation. The grain harvest in 2004 was less than half of that of the previous 12 years and is less than 15% of the nation’s grain requirements according to a story on AlterNet.
As mentioned in the update for 8 June, Australia is in a drought but climate change experts are saying it will be prolonged as the land down under is going through a prolonged period of climate change.
Members of the Bush Administration have altered a key climate change report to make it appear less severe than it really is. The White House is defending this and Lawmakers are asking tough questions.
8 June – Evacuations were ordered yesterday at Mexico's Volcano of Fire, which has been erupting. There has also been, as the bible says, lots of 'earthquakes in diverse places' and that is why the RSS feed is on this page.
Drought is a growing problem around the world. A drought in Djibouti is underway and no one wants to help. Malnutrition among the kids and women is growing and it seems that the worked community is as usual uninterested if the victims are black Africans. The Global response to Africa's ecological crisis seems to be, 'let them die'. Sadly the response for Africans is not like Asians got, as after the Tsunami. Niger may get some aid from the US for its famine, but it will come in the form of loans. Loans that poor nations are ill equipped to pay back. The Famine here is caused by hungry locusts that has devastated its cereal production and livestock.
Well, now drought is hitting Australia and it portends significant economic loss, it is the 3rd worst drought in its history and of course, it is getting some coverage in the Western press. Drought world wide is set to negatively impact economic growth to the tune of about $4 billion.
2 June - Several quakes have hit population centers today.
A 5.6 quake rattled Taiwan today
A 6.3 quake hit India's Northeastern region panicking residents.
A 5.9 quake hit some remote Tibetan counties
A 3.8 quake hit the New Madrid fault line in Tennessee.
In volcano news the 'Volcano of Fire' in Mexico gave off a midnight eruption and now authorities are considering evacuating the area.
On another note, I want to mention something interesting and somewhat frightening. The recent Bilderberg meeting touched on the problem of global pandemics, according to investigators. The Bilderbergs are an elite group of industrialists, politicians, bankers and journalists who meet regularly in the strictest of secrecy to schmooze and to discuss the world's problems. Don't let any one anywhere tell you these guys are not real and do not exist. They have been meeting for years and only now in the most obtuse fashion are even mainstream publications beginning to talk about them. According to one investigator, they are planning on giving the WHO enormous power to combat diseases and perhaps control populations.
The new powers given to the WHO include the possibility of travel restrictions, airport searches and quarantine measures shows that our elite are serious. Why do I bring this up? Well, I will give you a couple of links for you to read. From there, you can put two and two together.
The Meeting No One Talks About
The World In The Palms Of Their Hands
Alex Jones Interviews Bilderberg Investigator (Audio)
Having said all of this it would behoove all of you reading this to not fall into the trap of thinking that this is just an old rehashed conspiracy theory. Really read these as well as some of the links inside the articles and think for yourself and you will see just what is being planned and why.
30 May – The Volcano in the Andaman Islands is erupting.
The huge earthquake that occurred on March 28th pushed up 10 new islands.
24 May: – Colombia has evacuated people around the rumbling volcano at Galeras. The nearby observatory has issued a warning for an eruption in the next few weeks.
Also a major volcanic eruption is occurring at Mexico's Volcano of Fire, hot rocks and ash are spewing out and experts are saying it is the biggest eruption in more than a decade.
Also hundreds are homeless in Kenya as flash floods hit the Homa Bay and Kisumu districts.
Also Sorcha Faal has a story about yet another dead scientist, the story can be found here.
23 May: – A freak wave cause thousands to be evacuated in India. Where are these waves coming from? A couple of weeks ago we saw the same thing damage a luxury liner. Since I am not a 'coincidence theorist' I must conclude that something is happening underneath the earths oceans. Either one of two possibilities comes to mind.
* Geologic activity is occurring that is undetected by our geologic sensors, or
* Activity is being picked up but are not being reported to the 'little people'
Now how can this occur, (15,000 being evacuated) and only one single short news report be found on this on the net? (thanks George Ure)
It appears that the Sumatra quake sent shivers through Alaska's mount Wrangell volcano.
Such long reach by earthquake energy -- spanning ocean basins, crossing continental shelves and leaping tectonic rifts -- has never been reported before - Anchorage Daily News
Also today, an earthquake hit Johannesburg and caused a collapse in a gold mine. Rescue workers are on the scene now.
18 May: – 2012: A year that has been bantered about around the web, various books and even TV programs as a year that will bring an end to the world as we know it. There seems to be more than a little evidence to point to the fact that the ancients believed this to be the date when massive earth changes would occur. One man has written on this subject extensively and looks at this issue using both science and the writings of the ancients is Patrick Geryl. His site is most interesting and deals with the question of 2012. It can be found here. It is a big site and you don't want to miss this page on Pole Shifts. While I personally shy away from date setting, I do recommended the site for its vast store of information.
Hey! If you live in California, the USGS now has an earthquake forecasting service. It can be found here. The Reuters story describing the service can be found here.
14 May: – A 6.9 Quake rattles the Tsunami stricken area. Also the dome at Mt. Saint Helens is rebuilding... after 25 years.
On another note, many of you may find this article interesting on dead scientists.
12 May: – Five Quakes hit Iceland Yesterday in the same general vicinity.

11 May: – Norway's Glaciers are showing marked change. This is important because Norway is made up of about 1% Glaciers.
I will digress here from the usual casual observations to a subject that may seem a little 'twilight zone-ish'. In light of the fact that many believe that massive earth changes are on the way and that these changes could actually cause massive human displacements it behooves us to ask an important question. Are our elite planning for this? If so, how?
Many years ago a man named Phil Schneider talked prolifically and incessantly about underground bases. These bases do exist but the purpose of some of them are not known. Billions have been spent on these bases and most people do not know anything about them. The following lecture was given by Phil back in 1995, just before is death which was ruled a 'suicide' though it appears he was badly beaten just before his death. The first hour is mostly about UFO's, but the second does spend some time on his work specifically at these secret underground bases. Beware... this is very weird stuff.
Indeed when one considers many of the anomalies of the Denver International Airport the question of the purpose of the great underground structures of these bases located near a major transportation hub should concern us. More can be found here and here.
This is a subject that may not deal specifically with earth changes so much, but shows that there are secret bases located underground that are not generally known to the public. What these bases are for is a subject of much speculation.
Finally on this subject Sorcha Faal's latest update talks about this to a small degree and is most interesting. And it may be wise to keep in mind what the linked article that follows says... read it here.
More on the location of global underground bases can be found here. It seems these secret facilities serve the kings and rulers and not so much the people at large.
And the kings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every bondman, and every free man, hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains; And said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb: For the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand? (Revelation 6:15-17)
(Rev 6:15-17)
10 May: – Yellowstone is rated high for eruption threat. Also a 6.6 Quake rocked Sumatra.
9 May: – The Gulf Stream may be changing and with it some weather patterns may be changing with it. Click here for the story.
6 May: – There were two significant quakes in Panama. One was a 6.5 rumbler and the other was a 5.9. Some are worried that the massive Tsunami may be the cause of many upcoming quakes that are as strong as the 9.3 that happened late last year. Such quakes, it is believed, cause the earths crust to be seriously destabilized.
"It is highly likely that we will see several more on the scale of the Indonesian event in the next few years." - The Australian
Here is an interesting article on Melting Ice in arctic regions, it is well worth a read and check out the links at the bottom of the article.
Also of interest is the fact that a researcher says the Earth is getting brighter as a result of extra sunlight getting through the atmosphere. Well, you be the judge.
Finally, over 600 earthquakes in El Salvador has sparked panic. Some believe that the plates are moving because the earth is oscillating and the plates are set to move against one another, effecting the US West Coast, More here.
4 May: – The sun has a massive sunspot on it that does not even need a telescope to observe, says one newspaper article.
The EARLY WARNING EARTHQUAKE DETECTION NETWORK has issued an earthquake warning for the South Pacific. Details on this can be found here.
2 May: – There was a mild quake that affected 5 states today. The quake was centered in Arkansas and measured a 4.1.
27 Apr: I heard a very interesting interview this morning on the Mike McNulty show with Larry Parks at Terra Research. He gave out some interesting information on Earthquake's and Sonic Booms that seem to precede some of them. In fact he has an interesting page on something similar here. More here. I heard a him couple of years ago on a show called Borderlands and he discussed earth changes at Yellowstone. Larry has some interesting stuff.
A new map has been released showing Earthquake potential in western Nevada more here.
Also of note is that the Independent ran a story on how Climate Change can effect the global food supply. While the thrust of the article seems to be a thinly veiled attempt to bolster the global warming theory it does make for an interesting read.
22 Apr: Glaciers in Antarctica are melting says a scientific study, caused by warming of the climate. The study stops short of blaming human influenced activity for the shrinkage.
NOAA is issuing a drought warning for the East Africa.
NOAA satellites have detected areas of stifling drought conditions in parts of Kenya, Ethiopia and Somalia for the sixth year in a row. These conditions leave the region with threats of starvation, water shortages, widespread crop losses and disease outbreaks, according to researchers at the NOAA Satellite and Information Service. - NOAA
Water shortages are likely to be a serious problem in the near to medium term for the entire planet. Look at what is going on 'down under' with water thieves. America... you are taking clean water for granted!
Also yesterday a 5.9 quake hit Alaska.
20 Apr: 58 were injured in a Japanese quake today. Most injuries were from falling debris. A number of buildings were damaged as well, more can be found here. Here is an unusual story; A 50 foot crater was formed by a geothermic 'explosion' in New Zealand.
The people on the island of Comoros are concerned that the well water has been poisoned by the recent volcanic activity. The good news is that the volcano seems to have calmed down and people are going back home.
18 Apr: Get ready for the BIG ONE! That is the message that the Cascadia Region Earthquake Working Group (CREW) came up with in an interesting paper found here.
Also today a small quake hit France as well as Alaska. This all happening while thousands flee their villages as the Volcano on Comoros came to life yesterday.
17 Apr: Another strong quake was registered in the Nias region and Japan Yokohama area was jolted by a moderate tremor as well. People are also fleeing as yet another Volcano appears to be coming to life. Mount Karthala on the Comoros Archipelago released black smoke and ash reducing visibility on the the Island to near zero. More can be found here. Also California was rocked by a 5.1 quake yesterday.
Also, the number of people forced to relocate on the Island of Sumatra due to the new Volcanic Activity there is well over 40,000 people. The massive Tsunami that happened last year and this volcanic activity are related according to scientists. Also the appearance of clams in certain areas of Indonesia may mean a major quake is on its way.
Another notable occurrence: A freak wave hit a luxury cruise ship causing panic and fear. The wave reportedly was over 70 feet! The ship was damaged and was taken into port.
14 Apr: Indonesia is monitoring 11 volcano's for increased activity. This, in light of the eruption of Mount Talang. Recent quakes have sparked panic in this disaster stricken area.
13 Apr: Jim Puplava at Financial Sense did an interesting interview with some experts on global warming, both pro and con on the scientific theory that is well worth a listen. It can be found here by clicking on the April 9th interview for the second hour.
12 Apr: Sorry I have not not been keeping up with all of the activity but I am working on some things right now and it is keeping me somewhat preoccupied. Tokyo was hit a with a strong quake yesterday. Also San Diego was hit by a decent little quake today. Also a 6.6 quake hit French New Caledonia, but no damage of casualties were reported.
Things on Sumatra are not looking good. Thousands fled as Mount Talang bellowed to life spewing ash. More than 20,000 have been evacuated. This activity is deemed serious by scientists. Now the India Daily is saying that the swell of quakes experienced in this region could be a precursor to a mega-quake that could 'end civilization'. Well you be the judge the article is here. Others are saying much of the same. An article out of Australia says pretty much the same thing that our planet faces a geological catastrophe.
Also yesterday we saw an earthquake Jolt New Zealand.
Finally The Discovery Channel has a story on Yellowstone the revels a Rock Plume from the earths mantle. The Story can be found here.
8 Apr: A very strong quake hit Sumatra. The 6.7 rumbler caused folks to flee the coast.
7 Apr: For those of you who love disaster flicks there will one on the Yellowstone Caldera on Sunday. The show is produced by the Discovery Channel and the BBC. More info here.
Antarctica Icebergs: What is causing them to separate from the continent? Hmmm... could this be it?
Volcanic Eruptions On Andaman are continuing.
Also Sorcha Faal's Latest can be found here.
4 Apr: Sorcha Faal's latest update contains information on the latest arctic quake that occurred on 2 April. She discusses the exodus of many animals in the region. The article can be found here and once again always check her links. Especially this one.
Sorcha's article can be found here.
1 Apr: Scientists are saying that a super volcano may blow at anytime near quake stricken Sumatra. They describe these special Super Volcano's as being the greatest hazard on Earth.
Professor Cas said a "major tectonic event" could be enough to trigger a deadly super-volcanic eruption.
More can be found here.
Quake relief in these regions has been slow to say the least hampered by damaged infrastructure and bad weather. The victims are becoming increasingly angry.
Also
a 5.0 quake hit the Philippines on Thursday.

over 700
recorded.
In other news, the Millennium Ecosystem Assessment issued a report detailing severe problems with the global ecosystem. The reports dire assessment says that most of the earths resources are used up and man has had a very negative effect on the planet. A press release can be found here.
More news reporting can also be found here.
Scientists are stumped. They do not know what two objects are that are emitting large amounts of radiation but are pitch black. The objects are huge, larger than our solar system. They are a complete mystery. More can be found here.
29 Mar: The Volcano at Anatahan is spewing ash that reached an altitude of nearly 19,000 Feet. Also the Volcano I Central Mexico know as the Volcano of Fire is Causing some anxiety. Read more here.
The 8.7 quake that occurred yesterday may have killed over 2000 people and the region has canceled its tsunami threat.
28 Mar: An 8.2 quake has hit Sumatra today. There is a great fear of another Tsunami. The Southern coast of Thailand has been evacuated. This entire region has not settled down since the December 26 quake and has seen numerous quakes ranging from small ones in the 3.0 range to significant ones in the mid 6.0 range.
More information can be found here.
The 8.2 quake has been raised to 8.7 and it is being reported that this quake lasted a full 2 minutes.
23 Mar: Trouble in the aftermath of the Japan's recent quake continues as rain sparked landslides are a fear.
Arctic Oil
The arctic drilling issue is an important one, not because the nation does not need to either find new sources of oil or seriously reduce its consumption but because the Congress has decided that the short term needs of our oil dependent society take precedence over the environment. How do you put out an oil fire in the arctic? What kind of damage would it do? Is anyone asking these questions? Over and over again America is choosing to undermine its long term interests in favor of short term fixes. The answer is not more arctic drilling. which will do pathetically little to alleviate the very real problem of Hubbert's Peak and its effect on America's economy. I do not want to go and sound like a radical environmentalists, which I am not. I would like to put the 'conserve' back in conservative and respect our natural resources; to use and exploit them with great care rather than reckless abandon.
On this subject, RFK Jr. gave a very, very interesting and informative talk in San Francisco on March 4th that really discusses what is happening in the environmental arena. His talk is free from partisanship and he really talks about some shocking issues that you don't hear about in the mainstream. Believe me there were several things in this talk that I had no idea were going on! I highly recommended spending the hour and listening to what this man has to say. Two versions are available. One is very large and has good quality (high-bandwidth) the other is of OK quality and designed for those with dial-up.
21 Mar: Two quakes rattle Argentina, one a 6.9 and the other a 6.4.
March 21, 2005 12:43:11 GMT
March 21, 2005 12:23:52 GMT
20 Mar: A series of moderate earthquakes have shaken the pacific rim, The largest hit the south coast of Japan and killed on person and injured over 400.The quake measured a magnitude 7.0. A Tsunami Warning was issued, see story here from CNN.
Other Quakes over the pat few days are as follows
March 20, 2005 01:53:42 GM
March 19, 2005 17:34:45 GM
March 19, 2005 15:02:41 GM
March 19, 2005 03:01:14 GM
March 19, 2005 01:35:59 GM
March 18, 2005 09:34:49 GMT
The USGS has not posted this quake at 7.0 as of this writing. Let us all keep in mind that the USGS is part of the Department of Homeland Security and I suspect that major quake reporting may require a degree of 'administrative coordination' before data is released to the public.
17 Mar: The Volcano that has been active on the Island of Kilauea may be a health risk to those located downwind, so says a report by Space Daily.
Also of interest is the that an imminent volcanic eruption has officials in the nation of Cameroon concerned and making some preparations for what could be a serious natural disaster. Story can be found here.
Arctic Drilling? What kind of monster would even think about such a think let alone pass it? With all the problems the world is having in its arctic regions?
To kind of 'tag along' with the earlier drought Information on Urban Survival, the NOAA has a great page that tracks drought conditions. It can be found here.
15 Mar: There have been numerous quakes the past few days. From San Diego to Iran, Bali to New Zealand, just like the Bible said, in diverse places. Scientists are saying the the 9.3 Tsunami quake changed the coastlines of the region.
George Ure at his excellent site, Urban Survival, has an interesting post on R.O.O.F, that is Running Out Of Food. It can be found here. I truly believe that a major food crisis in in our short to medium term future. There are many dreams and visions about this of this on my Prophets Corner.
And when he had opened the third seal, I heard the third beast say, Come and see. And I beheld, and lo a black horse; and he that sat on him had a pair of balances in his hand. And I heard a voice in the midst of the four beasts say, A measure of wheat for a penny, and three measures of barley for a penny; and see thou hurt not the oil and the wine.
(Rev 6:5-6)
A penny in ancient times was roughly a days wage.
Also, the India Daily published a story on more unusual quakes occurring deep within the earth.
12 Mar: Three notable quakes have occurred since the last update. A 5.7 that injured 16 people in Turkey, A 6.1 that shook Wellington in New Zealand, and another 6.1 that hit Iran.
11 Mar: On a sad note, it has been brought to my attention that Sorcha Faal's brother may have been killed in that tragic Russian Helicopter accident yesterday.
10 Mar: I link to Sorcha Faal's latest for your discerning ears. This is a most interesting update and should not be ignored simply because many people love to criticize her and her work. It can be found here. Pay special attention to some of her interesing links provided throughout the article. Please do not write me telling me all the latest gossip on her. I have heard it all. Her stuff is free for all to read unlike so many who are making a lot of money instilling fear and panic in people. So please, please, please stop shooting the messengers!
An earthquake in South Africa may have been caused by Over-mining.
On another note, the London Geological survey has released a report saying that there is a much greater risk from large geological events than from asteroids. The report starts like this;
The occurrence of a super-eruption would have severe environmental effects and might threaten global civilisation. This is the assessment of a Geological Society of London working group composed of senior Earth Scientists. The effects of a super-eruption would be comparable to those predicted for the impact of a 1km-diameter asteroid with the Earth. In fact, super-eruptions are 5-10 times more likely to occur than such an impact. The assessment of the working party has been presented to the UK Government’s Natural Hazard Working Group
The Entire Report can be found here.
9 Mar: Mt. Saint Helens is spewing steam and ash. This was not a major event and it is quickly subsiding. However the seam of quakes noted last week that transpired off the coast of Oregon shows that this region is showing some real activity.
There has been a grat deal of talk about what could happen in the arctic if a major quake happens. The following link gives a little background, click here.
5 Mar: An Earthquake swarm noted off the coast of Oregon is promoting research by geologists. More can be found here. These swarms are unusual and could signal big geologic changes or an eruption in the region. Other unusual earth events, over a dozen dolphins were found stranded in the Florida Keys.
4 Mar: An interesting study is going to be published in the National Academy Of Sciences that shows that Arctic warming is a trend that appears to be irreversible. The study purports to the the largest done of its kind and consisted of researchers from Canada, Norway, Russia, Finland and Great Britain. A story can be found here . In other earth changes news, another study done by the University of Wisconsin-Madison says that humans are having an impact on the climate and essentially dares anyone to refute it. To get an idea where this study and those that led it are coming from, here is a snippet of a statement he made.
"This is perhaps the most compelling evidence yet that global warming is happening right now and it shows that we can successfully simulate its past and likely future evolution."
More on these developments can be found here.
In more news a senior associate with the Climate Change Science Program resigned in frustration with the Bush administration after 10 years with that agency. The agency's web site can be found here, however no mention is made of Mr. Piltz's resignation.
Finally, the Department of Energy is actually talking about peak oil and the need to mitigate it. This is quite a development as there are many naysayers out there who actually believe that oil is a limitless resource and the supply will always outstrip demand. More can be found here, as well in the ASPO's excellent newsletter, found here.
3 Mar: The hole in the Ozone layer in Antarctica is being blamed on Solar Storms, according to a report done by MSNBC. While this is not news, it is clear that many scientists have said for a long time that the ozone hole had far less to do with CFC's than Solar activity. It is good to see someone reminding us of this while the President makes an important policy decision on global warming. Hopefully he will use information gained from hard evidence rather than popular myths and politically motivated 'scientific' studies (on either side of the argument) to help him formulate a decision.
A 7.2 quake rattled Indonesia but little damage was reported.
1 Mar: Snows Kill record number of Japanese.
28 Feb: While the activity around the world seems to be subsiding ever so slightly, I wanted to briefly cover an item that has been in the news quite a bit over the past few months. That issue is the Kyoto Treaty. This, as you know is a political attempt to solve the 'global warming' crisis. While a general consensus seems to have been reached that the earth is warming, the causes of this phenomenon is being hotly debated. It seems that there are many interests, political and economic who will benefit from this treaty, most notably the developing world.
I bring this up in this blog to underscore an important point; while the 'science' of global warming has gained wide acceptance, there are still many who have some very real misgivings at the mad dash to ratify this treaty in the US because of the enormous economic and ecologic damage that this treaty (they feel) will inevitably bring about. Emissions standards will be tightened in the Western nations, which already generally already has much higher standards than many developing nations. This will lead to the many industries shifting their means of production to nations with less strict standards. Many have noted that this would almost certainly lead to an even quicker pace of job losses in the west. Germany is already having a severe employment crisis, France is seeing unemployment hover around 10% and the US rate (using the BLS alternative measures of employment) is just over 9%.
Is Global warming a reality? There are some scientists who contend that not only is it not a reality, but the Sun may actually be dimming. No... you did not hear this in America's corporate controlled media, but in Israel. These are all issues that need serious examination before anyone decides that a knee jerk ratification of the Kyoto Treaty is a good Idea, because my own unscientific opinion is that the political agenda is the real issue and environmentalism is just the 'trolley' they are using to get to their desired economic and political destination.
More importantly however, in this authors opinion, is the need to find real hard evidence of this kind of warming in the distant past to determine if this warming is simply a natural occurring phenomenon or really is being caused by Man. However I wish to make one thing clear, I do not dispute that man has had an enormous impact on his environment and that this impact has been very negative, but it seems to me that any political solution that is arrived at can better be focused on real environmental problems like the destruction of the rain forests by heavy industry, dumping nuclear waste into the sea and simply reducing the consumption of fossil fuels by building massive rapid transit systems in America's metropolitan areas that are free to use for all. This will make it less appealing to use one's car to get to work everyday. Such a development would significantly harm the revenues of certain entrenched interests in the US and this may be why we have not seen these moves. They would certainly reduce America's consumption of oil, and reduce other harmful emissions that scientists are claiming is causing global warming. This, I believe is largely because these same companies and corporations have a great deal of influence when these treaties are formulated and they then can be written in such a way as to benefit or at the very least, not harm their economic interests.

26 Feb: Another strong quake rattled off the coast of Sumatra Indonesia once again near the area hardest hit by the Tsunami, the quake measured 6.7 on the Richter scale. There was also another strong quake in Tajikistan and one off the coast of Japan. Also, extreme weather is being blamed for over 1000 deaths in South Asia, read more here.
An another note, I am not a scientist, geologist or astrophysicist and never claimed to be one. This is not a “crying wolf” page. It is just a blog of all kinds of significant geologic activity. When I have time, I put up the information I think relevant. There are some people out there who call themselves scientists who spend an inordinate amount of time calling other people names in their web pages and radio interviews. Why? Because people like myself also see earth changes happening all around them and choose from time to time to write about them. One individual in particular seems to want to form his own monopoly of information and constantly (and I do mean constantly) whines about being 'attacked' and then turns right around and does the exact same things to others who have never attacked him. This individual has gained a great deal of notoriety on the web and alternative radio but rarely has anything good to say about anyone but himself and behaves as though he is the spring of all scientific knowledge. He constantly disparages anyone who attempts to tell others about what is going on or who does a little work of their own as a 'yo yo' or some other such derogative term. Should only those who belong to the scientific 'priesthood' be allowed to write about these things?
I don't think so, but I'm sure there are some net-nazi's out there who do.
I do this page because those of you who are not serious geologists can get a gleaming of activity I have noted around the world, without the constant drone of whining some individuals are in the very bad habit of doing or having to rummage though dry technical manuals and scientific papers that may or may not be written above your (or my) level of understanding. This is just an 'as is' blog and I hope it has been useful to you. It is not written for the whining scientist or complainers of any sort. Listen, it is a very big world-wide-web and those of you who do not like this page or find it to be of little use are more than welcome (in fact I encourage you) to surf away to another page that fits your particular fancy.
Finally, this isn't an attack on any individual's person, work or integrity. Rather it is simply a response to a broad verbal attack this individual has leveled at hundreds of people like myself who may not be a trained scientist but don't need one to tell them something isn't quite right with our earth these days. Many of us are simply not going to wait around for 'official pronouncements' coming out of the scientific establishment to confirm what everything around us (earthquakes, volcano's, tsunamis, floods) is already saying. Nor will we wait for the alternative 'scientists' to 'bless' us with their insights, however honest, well researched and useful.
Once again and for the record; I am not a scientist and never claimed to be. I keep my own 'un-scientific' observations clearly distinguishable from the actual news or scientific reporting contained in this blog.
25 Feb: A strong quake rattled Indonesia in an area hardest hit by the Tsunami. Small quakes also rattled my relatively 'earthquake free' area of Central Maryland on Wednesday. There were actually three, the story can be found here.
The aftermath of the Iranian quakes continue and as usual, Relief Web is issuing periodic updates on the situation. Their report can be found here. Not surprisingly the Iranians have rejected US offers of aid.
In the activity being noted in Antarctica, Scientists have found that the changes occurring there do not seem to be a new phenomenon, rather, such a recession of the ice shelf has occurred in the past. A story can be found here.
Finally, The Atka Volcano, located in Alaska has vented, causing the villages below to go on alert. What this means is unclear but it could become a more active volcano. The other Alaskan volcano's, Spurr, and Veniaminof, have remained quiet. More can be found here.

The Earth be shakin' ...
The storms in California are causing some real havoc. Many roads are closed and many backyards of the rich are falling off over rain soaked cliffs; swimming pools, tennis courts and all. The Mayor of LA is trying to get Bush to declare in a Federal Emergency.
A small but notable airport, the play ground of such celebrities as Harrison Ford and the late Steve McQueen is in danger of being washed away, it has already lost a large part of its runway, which collapsed into the river.
We are indeed living in interesting times...
22 Feb: A devastating quake hit Iran today killing at least 400 people. The 6.4 quake caused significant damage in many villages around the epicenter. Some of the villages had 80%of their buildings destroyed. One Iranian official said that several villages have been destroyed. More can be found here.
One of the earths plates is breaking up. This is the conclusion of the University of Colombia study that the Indo-Australian plate appears to have broken apart and that the continents are moving independently of each other. More can be found here.
An avalanche caused by extreme weather has killed nearly 200 in Pakistan.
19 Feb: I just got off the phone with a relative who lives in southern California and she tells me that the rainfall happening there is really something unusual. Now she has lived in California since 1955 and says that she has never seen anything like it since she has moved to California. She reports that in Topanga Canyon has one of the main roads in closed. More can be found here. George Ure also covered this as well.
Several quakes occurred one in Indonesia was a 6.5. Another was 5.5 also occurred in the same region. Another interesting story hit that a large burst of energy has hit the earth . The cause of the the blast is a mystery.
"Had this happened within 10 light-years of us, it would have severely damaged our atmosphere and possibly have triggered a mass extinction," said Bryan Gaensler of the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics (CfA).
They sure kept this quiet... until AFTER in happened.
16 Feb: Relief Operations in the Tsunami region released a report detailing operations till now.
Yet another powerful quake has rattle Aceh. Scientists are concerned that the Tsunami quake area has not quieted down since the 9.3 quake in December. There have been over 550 quakes in the region since the December Tsunami.
In another finding that supports rapid climate change, scientists have noted significant temperature variations in the Southern Oceans from just 10 years ago as well as the amount of salt found in the water.
15 Feb: Mt. Egon, which is located in Indonesia erupted yesterday, the only story found was on Xinhua. With all the quakes and geologic activity in this region why is that only the Chinese have enough sense to report it? Two Cyclones are bearing down on South Pacific Islands creating a very dangerous situation. This entire region seems to be extremely unstable.
Also interestingly a small quake hit Wales. Later in the day Tokyo was hit by a moderate 5.4 quake. Also, a strong 6.4 quake hit western Sumatra today.
Yes, here is a lot of activity in the area of earth changes. Scientists are putting up the first elements of a neutrino telescope in Antarctica, ostensibly to observe:
The IceCube telescope will look for the telltale signatures of high-energy cosmic neutrinos, ghostlike particles produced in violent cosmic events - colliding galaxies, distant black holes, quasars and other phenomena occurring at the very margins of the universe. Read more here

Another strong quake rattles Aceh, the 5.6 quake hit Tsunami Battered area on Sunday. A swarm of quakes was noted in India and its cause is being explained as pressure between two plates . Also of note the recent pictures provided of the undersea area of the Tsunami show that the stresses are still in place, increasing the likelihood of yet another massive earthquake in the same region.
Also of note are increasing quake activity in Alaska, over the past several days many small quakes have been registered in southern Alaska. Now there has been a moderate quake on the Alaskan Yukon border registering a 5.3 of the Richter scale.
Another moderate quake was noted in the Tsunami hit area today as well as moderate quakes in Andaman region and the Leeward Islands.
12 Feb: The weather in southern California has been strange ever since the first of the year. Three lives are claimed in storm related deaths. 70 MPH winds and heavy rains have been noted in the recent storms. Last week it was reported that these storms were having a negative effect on the Oil spill off the California coast, which has received scant news coverage. No one knows where it's coming from though the Coast Guard says it is from a pipeline. The Media seems too scared of the oil companies to make a call.
But strange weather continues around the world. Pakistan has seen avalanches and floods which killed many. Also, eleven have died in Colombian Mudslides. Rains have also battered Venezuela, killing 26.
There was a notable quake in the central US on Thursday. The 4.1 quake jolted residents in this generally geologically quite part of the world. Yet Scientists are warning of more quakes in the region to come.
10 Feb: UK Navy Releases Images Of Tsunami (underwater). Mile long rocks were moved at over 100mph in tsunami's wake. The Tsunami hit region is still geologically unstable, Ache was hit with a 6.2 quake yesterday.
The Red Cross And Red Crescent have released some information on the efforts around Manam Volcano and it can be found here.
9 Feb: India's roads are beingt severely effected by extreme weather conditions. Extreme weather and other forms of Earth Changes are now mainstream topics. A small snippet of things in the news reported over the past few years can be found on this article on emagazine.com's site that promotes a book called Feeling The Heat. While I am very suspicious of the political motivations of many who promote political solutions to what may or may not be a man made problem, it does seem clear that the warming trend is real and should not be ignored. Here in my neck of the woods, the weather is increasingly unpredictable and the weather man has had some real problems correctly predicting the weather just 36 hours out.
Some have pointed to the possibility that there is some kind of electromagnetic charge present noting reports by individuals of unusual electrical and electromagnetic occurrences. Without sounding like a 'crackpot', I often wonder if there is some sort of astronomical phenomenon happening that is causing extreme weather and the unusual solar activity that we have seen the past couple of years. I do not know and lacking any formal training in these areas I will not venture a guess, other than to say this. Something very unusual seems to be happening in our solar system and to our planet.
Finally, An interesting article on the San Andreas Fault can be read here.
8 Feb: A 6.1 Quake took place off the coast of Papau New Guinea. There was also a 4.8 earthquake in Tokyo Japan. Another 6.8 quake was registered today in the Vanuatu region. Northwestern University Scientists have postulated that he 9.0 quake that caused the Tsumani on Christmas day was actually three times larger than previously thought.
6 Feb: Antarctica is still a serious issue as as far as climate change is concerned, NASA points this out in this most interesting page with great pictures. Thanks to Larry Taylor's News Group for this great link. Also check this interesting story out, it seems that geese are dropping dead out of the sky in the Pacific Northwest. Malaysia put out a tsunami warning after yesterday's quake in the Mariana Islands which was upgraded from a 7.1 to a 7.2.
There were two quakes of note today, first here was a 4.4 in the Bay area and another 4.8 in the Philippines. There was also another moderate quake between Australia and Antarctica.
5 Feb: An Alaskan Volcano has residents worried as Lava has been spotted from the dome, read more here. A large 7.1 quake occurred in the pacific today as well as a 6.3 quake in the northern Mariana Islands. Earth changes appear to be picking up in intensity and frequency.
4 Feb: Quake activity in the Philippines is increasing and scientists are monitoring the Mayon Volcano. An interesting take on some these earth changes can be found on the following link. It really is quite interesting and I encourage my readers to check it out, click here.
3 Feb: Freak Storms have hit Australia see more here. Strange weather is becoming more common. In another story that may or may not be related to Earth Changes lakeside homes in Irving Texas sunk 6- 8 feet last night.
2 Feb: A quake jolted Java today. Also, an entire island had been evacuated because of a volcanic eruption. A 6.3 quake shook Guam while at the same time residents of the island are becoming sick from the smoke and ash of the Volcanic eruption of the Manam Volcano.
Scientists are now saying that 50% of the arctic ice cap could melt withing 50 years is climate change is not stopped. While I am always skeptical of these kinds of warnings as they are usually just a veiled attempt to call for the US to ratify the Kytoto accord, which will do absolutely nothing for the environment, it is indeed a dire warning that cannot be ignored. Something is happening in the polar region and it is ominous. Yet another article discusses the collapse of a large part of the ice cap in Antarctica. Something is happening in earths polar regions.
1 Feb: Taiwan was hit by a 5.2 quake that caused buildings to sway. A 5.6 quake hit Indonesia's Java Island today. The quake was actually an undersea event; this along with at 5.5 quake in the Nicobar Islands shows there is still much activity in the region. There was also a 5.8 Quake that rocked Hokkaido Japan late Monday night. Swarms of quakes are also noted off the coast of Ecuador and may portend a quake of 'biblical' dimensions. See story here. This is a seriously under reported story. Thanks to George Ure of Urban Survival for staying on top of it!
Two Alaskan volcano's are showing signs of activity and have been emitting steam and ash. In Asia, one man is feared dead, buried in lava flow, after a volcano erupted in Papua New Guinea. The volcano rocked the entire Island and sent rocks and debris everywhere. The Manam volcano has been erupting since last November.
Don't think earthquakes are increasing? Here is a list of 5.0 and greater quakes just for today (which isn't over yet as of this posting)

30 Jan: A 5.3 rumbler hit Turkey today and this is the second moderate quake that hit the Mediterranean in the past few days. Other notable quakes are a 5.2 in the Norwegian Sea, a 5.5 in the Sandwich Islands and a 5.4 in Japan. Scientists can explain all these quakes away if they want, I say the earth is very active and the newsrooms around the world need to inform the people as to what they know and what they suspect without all of the 'don't worry, be happy' commentary that is common today in official statements about Earth changes. The only time we hear 'the sky is falling' from our leaders with regard to the environment is if they have some political agenda to push and wish to use 'global warming' as an issue. I often wonder about the warming (in terms of magma and volcanic activity) that may be occurring under the earth than than the purported warming that may be occurring above it.
29 Jan: Snow in Mallorca and Rome? Having been to both places both for work and vacation there (what beautiful places) it seems so strange to even picture such a thing. But obviously while this is rare it is not unheard of. However, with the spate of so many strange weather events around the world, it seems to be relevant. There was also an unusual 3.9 Quake in Arizona.
Scientists are warning the west coast to get ready for a major quake, The rate a 20% chance of a cataclysmic quake that could produce tsunamis not unlike those that hit Asia last Christmas. Turning to that region, there has been at least 18 quakes recorded in that region in the past couple of days. Scientists are becoming increasingly alarmed over these quakes as they are very usual. More can be found here.
28 Jan: Now here is something that I have really hesitated putting up because it seems almost too weird. But if anyone has an explanation for this let me know. This is an image for SOHO, the governments Solar Observatory. You tell me, because I cannot explain it.
Also noteworthy today are quakes that took place off the coast of Ecuador. One was a 6.2 and another was a 6.1 in the same place. There has also been at least 6 quakes measuring at least 5.0 today in the region of the Nicobar Islands.
27 Jan: - The New York Times/International Herald Tribune are talking about the warmer climate on Antarctica and the threat it poses for the world's climate. Read more here. Russia Experienced a 6.0-6.5 quake in its Far Eastern Region, this is the second moderate quake in 48 hours. The Sumatra, Nicobar Island region has experienced several moderate quakes within the past 24 hours as well.
A theory exist that says the recent massive earth quake in northeast of Banda Aceh in Indonesia's Aceh province really has its roots in the series of earthquakes in Assam over the last three years. It seems the Andaman plate line of 700 miles may be collapsing. That will be a much larger catastrophe. From the India Daily
The earth does not appear to be at rest.
26 Jan: – Activity At Mt. Saint Helens activity surprises Scientists the dome is not acting in a way they expected. Also, scientists are also predicting a major Quake for Australia as the geologic plate under it is moving. There was also a 5.5 quake in Turkey which killed two.
I have long suspected what this man so eloquently describes in this essay on the relationship between oil extraction and earthquakes. Please read.
24 Jan: – A 6.5 Quake rocked Andaman and Nicobar Islands. There was also a 6.2 earthquake shook the eastern Indonesian island of Sulawesi on Sunday. The city of Aceh was also effected by the rumbler.
22 Jan: – A Powerful 6.0 Quake rocked Taiwan on Friday. Kanlaon Volcano on the Philippines has emitted smoke and ash as well as the Volcano at Mt. Saint Helens. Another moderate 5.7 quake was noted in the Kermadic Islands as well as a 5.1 quake in Argentina.
21 Jan: According to research done by Stan Deyo, he believes that there is a likelihood of a large quake, volcanic activity or extreme weather occurring in the next hew days. A summary of his work can be found on his site here.
A moderate 5.5 earthquake rocked New Zealand on Friday, this was after a large swarm of quakes occurred a few days ago. Also there was a massive solar flare earlier in the week. This was one of the biggest flares since 1989. It has caused havoc with SOHO the solar observatory.
On Earth, there has been a large number of squids washing ashore in California. Scientists think it may be bacteria related. Yet with the kinds of numerous geologic activity we have seen other factors cannot be ruled out. Also of note there has been a large number beached whales in North Carolina.
20 Jan: A giant glacier is on a collision course with an Iceberg in Antarctica. This piece of ice is about the size of Luxembourg. Latest reporting says that now, it has stopped. Antarctica is now growing grass and it has established itself showing that we are seeing much warmer temperatures than we have seen on earth for thousands of years. The polar icecaps are melting at an alarming rate and this could cause a serious rise in oceans levels.
For those of you who are interested I wrote an article that discusses Earth Changes to come as well as Earth Changes that happened long ago. It can be found here.
19 Jan: More rumblings under the earth. A 6.8 quake off the coast of Japan set off Tsunami warnings that quickly expired. China also experienced a 4.7 quake. In another interesting story a swarm of quakes in New Zealand caused some concern and as usual, long before the research is compete on these swarms, scientists already have reached the conclusion that they are not a precursor to a 'big one'.
18 Jan: Here are some interesting links on weather changes around the world.
Flood Feared On Mississippi River
Moscow Melts In Record Warm Spell
From time to time Urban Survival spends some time talking about these types of earth changes issues.
Also Today a 6.3 quake rattled Central Japan. Read more here.
16 Jan: There has been some activity under the earth ans some who are monitoring this activity are saying another massive earthquake is in our near future. Additionally, the Sun is emitting some huge Solar flares Click on the link and scroll down the page to get the latest updates. Solar Flaring is becoming increasingly erratic and extreme. Solar flares effect satellites, radio transmissions and according to many scientists, Earths weather. Also, there was a 6.6 Quake in Micronesia. Micronesia, by the way, is where Velikovsky believed the South Pole used to be before the last major Polar Shift.
13 Jan: Scientists are increasingly concerned about the unusual weather and strange anomalies noted around the world. An excellent summary of these things can be found here.
12 Jan: Scientists at UC Davis predicted the Tsunami and have been surprisingly accurate in their 10 year forecast. “Of 38 large earthquakes worldwide since 2000, 30 have occurred directly on or within the margin of error of hotspots identified by the forecast.” In other news California was rattled by a 4.3 quake and the activity around Sumatra is still a cause for concern as after shocks are often in the 6 range on the Richter scale.
Pictures Of before and after pictures of Aceh can be Found here
11 Jan: Quakes rattle Taal Volcano The Earth actually shifted its Axis during the 9.0 Quake last month. NASA has released some information on this here. Another moderate quake happened in Iran Today measuring 5.8.
10 Jan: Quakes rattle Taal Volcano The quakes caused many resident to flee in fear of a Tsunami. Read more here.
9 Jan: More Quakes Shake Pacific Rim The eruption at the volcano at Anatahan island has increased in intensity. Additionally There have been some unusual weather in both Norther Europe and In Southern California.
6 Jan: More Quakes Shake Pacific Rim Today has seen several quakes in the pacific rim. There was a 5.2 quake that shook northern Japan and a 6.2 quake that shook the waters off the Indonesian coast near the island of Sumatra. There was also an earthquake in the Philippines that measured 4.3 on the Richter scale. Also of note is the fact that a volcano in Alaska is reportedly spewing ash. This region has experienced many moderate quakes and tremors in the past few months.

A London paper is putting the Death Toll at 100,000 – The Death Toll in the worlds worst Tsunami in recent memory could go much higher. Once again the threat of epidemics is becoming an increasing concern as many of the dead lie unburied.
Some of my readers have asked me to relate these events to the ends times, so here it is:
The earth is utterly broken down, the earth is clean dissolved, the earth is moved exceedingly. The earth shall reel to and fro like a drunkard, and shall be removed like a cottage; and the transgression thereof shall be heavy upon it; and it shall fall, and not rise again.
(Isa 24:19-20)
Behold, the LORD maketh the earth empty, and maketh it waste, and turneth it upside down, and scattereth abroad the inhabitants thereof. And it shall be, as with the people, so with the priest; as with the servant, so with his master; as with the maid, so with her mistress; as with the buyer, so with the seller; as with the lender, so with the borrower; as with the taker of usury, so with the giver of usury to him. The land shall be utterly emptied, and utterly spoiled: for the LORD hath spoken this word. The earth mourneth and fadeth away, the world languisheth and fadeth away, the haughty people of the earth do languish. The earth also is defiled under the inhabitants thereof; because they have transgressed the laws, changed the ordinance, broken the everlasting covenant. Therefore hath the curse devoured the earth, and they that dwell therein are desolate: therefore the inhabitants of the earth are burned, and few men left.
(Isa 24:1-6)
Therefore I will shake the heavens, and the earth shall remove out of her place, in the wrath of the LORD of hosts, and in the day of his fierce anger.
(Isa 13:13)
The Bible does talk about a Polar shift and while this earthquake in the Indian Ocean is probably not the fulfillment it is interesting to note that scientists are say the Earth actually 'wobbled' during this quake. I cannot stress enough that there has been a great deal of earthquake activity in and around the pacific rim. There have been numerous large earthquakes and now a massive Tidal Wave or Tsunami, making this one of, if not the worst disaster in recorded history.
And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring; Men's hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken.
(Luk 21:25-26)
Let us note that this author does not believe that the 'end' is yet, but I do believe that many, many more disasters of this magnitude will occur in the months and years ahead and that we are living in the end times. We have seen the signs in the Sun in extremely unusual Solar activity in the form of flares that have literally gone off the scale by which scientist's measure such phenomenon. Now we see a huge tsunami unlike any we have seen before. There are more things coming in the area of 'Earth Changes' and we need to be aware. For those of you who stop by here and are not Christians, let me make my pitch to you on this page and say that God wants all men everywhere to repent. Love the good, hate the evil, put your faith in Christ Jesus. DO NOT I repeat DO NOT follow after the so-called 'religious right', they are not Christ's representatives, but are, by and large, a 'straw man' set up by Christ's enemies to bring dishonor on Christ and Christians using religious dupes and spiritual rejects to accomplish their ends.
I dare say that this earthquake is just the beginning of sorrows. While I will not rub salt into the wounds of those who are suffering in the hardest hit lands, it is my observation that from India to Indonesia and even to Sri-Lanka, the persecution of Christians has become so prevalent that in many of the areas in this region, it has become a 'sport' to burn Churches and imprison and kill Christ's followers. It is done in the name of Hinduism, Islam and to a much lesser degree, Buddhism. I am not saying that this disaster was a 'punishment' from God, but that God will punish those who persecute his people and that punishment is extremely, extremely severe.
Earth Changes are coming. They will grow as the days pass and there will be no place on earth that will go unaffected by them.
Prepare.

The Maldives Islands may not survive the devastation of the recent Tsunami, said the Environmental News Network. Scientists say that the earth may have actually shifted its axis from the violent shaking of this Quake. As the world begins to move in to aid the disaster stricken areas, Millions are now displaced and have no place to live. Sadly it is estimated that more than half of the victims of the horrible disaster are children. The scenes of destruction are everywhere and many more dead are expected to add to the already high number of fatalities. World Leaders are launching major efforts to aid the victims. There are signs that the toll may exceed 50,000 dead. More Stories can be found on the following links
The world's biggest earthquake in 40 years hit south Asia Sunday, unleashing a tsunami that crashed into Sri Lanka and India and swamped tourist isles in Thailand and the Maldives, killing more than 21,000 people This is the kind of quake I have been expecting but I fear more on the way. As noted in this blog, scientists have noted a 'slow earthquake' off the coast of New Zealand and unusual activity under the San Andreas fault and at Mt Saint Helens. Indeed the big quakes we have seen in Japan over the past month, the volcanic eruptions in Russia and the Philippines show that the earth is doing something very strange. Violently strange. I fully expect more to happen and I also expect to see them all over the pacific rim where so many large earthquakes have occurred over the past couple of months. DOUGLAS - A minor earthquake rattled east-central Wyoming on Sunday afternoon (26th) but apparently caused no damage.
The quake brought some Douglas residents out of their homes to compare notes with their neighbors.
The temblor struck at 12:49 p.m. and measured 3.8 magnitude, the National Earthquake Information Center in Denver said.
The center classified the quake as minor and fairly shallow. The epicenter was 10 miles north-northwest of Douglas.
In 1984, a quake measuring 5.5 magnitude shook the area, causing slight damage.
While most of Wyoming's earthquake activity occurs in the state's northwestern corner and far west boundary, the Wyoming State Geological Survey has noted a history of earthquakes in central Wyoming, particularly southwest of Douglas near Laramie Peak.

June 2004 Yellowstone Seismicity Summary
During June 2004, 75 earthquakes were located in
the Yellowstone region. The largest shock to occur
during this period was a magnitude 2.1 earthquake
on June 10th at 8:46 AM MDT, located about 5 miles
northwest of West Yellowstone, Montana.
Earthquake activity in the Yellowstone region is at
background levels.

Fireman reported killed after huge mile-long crevasse opens along fault in western Mexico
MEXICO CITY (AP) – A gaping, mile-long crevasse opened early Tuesday along what officials described as a geological fault line in western Mexico, and a fireman who fell into the crevice was reportedly found dead at the bottom of the fissure.
The fireman was one of four civil defense personnel who were using tape to cordon off the crevasse when one of the edges gave way and all four tumbled about 20 feet (7 meters) to the bottom.
Three were rescued alive; one was taken to a hospital with serious injuries, while the other two suffered slight injuries in the fall.
Later, rescue workers using ladders and ropes found the fourth man dead at the bottom of the pit, the government news agency Notimex reported.
The crevasse reportedly opened without warning early Wednesday. It stretches about one mile (2 kms) across farm fields in a sparsely populated area in Zapopan, a suburb of the western city of Guadalajara.
It is as much as 15 feet (5 meters) wide in some places.
"This is a major geological fault," said Zapopan Mayor Arturo Zamora. The government declared the area off-limits and evacuated about 25 families who lived within about 100 yards (meters) of the crevasse.

Quake
in Alaska changed Yellowstone geysers
Some erupted more
often, others less often after big jolt 2,000 miles distant
May 28,
2004
Friday
A
powerful earthquake that rocked Alaska in 2002 not only triggered
small earthquakes almost 2,000 miles away at Wyoming's Yellowstone
National Park - as was reported at the time - but also changed the
timing and behavior of some of Yellowstone's geysers and hot springs,
a new study says.
"We did not expect to see these prolonged changes in the hydrothermal system," says University of Utah seismologist Robert B. Smith, a co-author of the study in the June issue of the journal Geology.
While other large quakes have been known to alter the activity of nearby geysers and hot springs, the Denali fault earthquake of Nov. 3, 2002, is the first known to have changed the behavior of such hydrothermal features at great distances, according to Smith and his colleagues. They say the magnitude-7.9 quake was one of the strongest of its type in North America in the past 150 years.
Smith conducted the study with Stephan Husen, a University of Utah adjunct assistant professor of geophysics who works at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology; Ralph Taylor, an engineer who designs geyser monitoring equipment at Yellowstone National Park; and Henry Heasler, Yellowstone National Park's geologist.
Less than 18 hours after the Denali earthquake in Alaska, Smith and colleagues at the University of Utah Seismograph Stations reported the major jolt had triggered more than 200 small earthquakes in Yellowstone - something widely reported by news media in the days following the quake.
Smith now says the triggered quakes at Yellowstone numbered more than 1,000 within a week of the Denali quake - if the count includes tiny temblors that were not "located," meaning their epicenters and depths were not determined. He says the quakes ranged in magnitude from minus 0.5 to just under 3.0. (Tiny quakes have negative magnitudes because modern seismic equipment can detect quakes smaller than was possible when the logarithmic magnitude scales were devised.)
Most of the triggered quakes were centered near geysers and hot springs.
Strong Earthquakes as Seismic and Geothermal Triggers
Scientists once believed that an earthquake at one location could not trigger earthquakes at distant sites. That belief was shattered in 1992 when the magnitude-7.3 Landers earthquake in California's Mojave Desert triggered a swarm of quakes more than 800 miles away at Yellowstone, as well as other temblors near Mammoth Lakes, Calif., and Yucca Mountain, Nev.
The magnitude-7.5 Hebgen Lake, Mont., quake northwest of Yellowstone - a 1959 disaster that killed 28 people - triggered changes in Yellowstone's geysers and hot springs, something not unexpected for a strong quake nearby.
Smith believes the Denali fault ruptured in such a direction from northwest to southeast that the brunt of its energy and its powerful surface waves were aimed southeast toward Yellowstone. As a result, the stresses rippling through the ground at Yellowstone were 200 to 300 times greater than if the Denali quake's waves were aimed elsewhere, he says.
As the Denali quake's surface waves arrived at Yellowstone, changes in hydrothermal activity first were noted at the 100 Spring Plain hot spring system in Norris Geyser Basin.
"Several small hot springs, not known to have geysered before, suddenly surged into a heavy boil with eruptions as high as 1 meter [about 39 inches]," Smith and colleagues wrote in Geology. "The temperature at one of these springs increased rapidly from about 42 to 93 degrees Celsius [about 108 to 199 degrees Fahrenheit]" and became much less acidic than normal. "In the same area, another hot spring that was usually clear showed muddy, turbid water."
Meanwhile, some geysers erupted more frequently than normal, while others erupted less frequently.
Yellowstone has more than 10,000 geysers, hot springs and fumaroles (steam vents), and scientists monitored how often 22 of the geysers erupted during the winter of 2002-2003. Eight of the 22 "displayed notable changes in their eruption intervals" after the Denali quake, 10 showed no significant changes and the other four were too erratic in the timing of their eruptions to determine if the quake changed them, the researchers wrote. Of the eight that changed:
Geysers that erupted more frequently following the Denali quake included Daisy, Depression, Plume and Riverside geysers in Upper Geyser Basin, and Pink Geyser in Lower Geyser Basin.
Geysers that erupted less frequently after the Denali quake included Castle and Plate geysers in Upper Geyser Basin and Lone Pine Geyser in West Thumb Geyser Basin.
Most geysers returned to their normal timing days to months after the Denali quake.
Oddly, geysers affected by earlier nearby earthquakes - most notably Old Faithful and Grand Geyser in Upper Geyser Basin - were not affected by the Denali earthquake.
How the Denali Quake Sparked Yellowstone Activity
Scientists do not know if the strong surface waves from the Denali quake independently triggered Yellowstone's small quakes and changes in geyser activity. Smith suspects not. He believes the Denali quake's waves affected the geysers by changing water pressure in underground conduits or "pipes" that feed the geysers. Such changes which in some cases would have made hot water "flash" explosively into steam would have altered the pressure on adjacent faults, triggering small earthquakes nearby. That would explain why the quakes were clustered around geyser basins.
Why did some geysers erupt more often and others less often? The researchers believe that when the Denali quake waves rippled through Yellowstone, they jarred loose minerals that had sealed some underground hot water conduits.
In some cases, that allowed superheated, pressurized water to flow more freely to make geysers erupt more often. In other cases, the rupturing of subterranean mineral seals enlarged the size of the conduits supplying geysers, reducing water pressure so those geysers erupted less often. Smith speculates that yet other geysers remained unchanged because they did not have pent-up gas and water pressure and were not affected by the Denali quake's surface waves.
The Denali quake also generated noticeable water waves in Seattle's Lake Union, Louisiana's Lake Pontchartrain and in swimming pools on the East Coast. It also triggered small quakes in California's Geysers geothermal area, which is north of San Francisco, and in eastern California's Long Valley, which, like Yellowstone, is a caldera, or giant volcanic crater created by cataclysmic prehistoric volcanic eruptions.
The Denali quake also triggered a few small quakes in Utah, and Smith says it is possible some of those quakes occurred near little-known hot springs along the Wasatch fault at the base of the Wasatch Range.
Smith says the fact that the Denali quake triggered geyser and hot springs changes at Yellowstone raises an interesting question: "Could large earthquakes closer to Yellowstone trigger hydrothermal explosions?"
Such steam-and-hot water explosions in prehistoric times blasted out a hole that now is Mary's Bay on Yellowstone Lake. One such explosion has occurred roughly every 1,000 years since the glaciers receded from Yellowstone roughly 14,000 years ago.
Smith says there is no evidence prehistoric quakes triggered those blasts. And such explosions were not triggered by the magnitude-7.5 Hebgen Lake, Mont., quake in 1959 or the magnitude-7.3 Borah Peak, Idaho, quake in 1983.
Nevertheless, a big quake near Yellowstone with its surface waves aimed the right way conceivably might "cause large hydrothermal eruptions," says Smith. "I would hypothesize that is certainly possible."

Poison gas kills five bison in Yellowstone
http://www.bozemandailychronicle.com/articles/2004/03/24/news/bisonbzbigs.prt
By SCOTT McMILLION, Chronicle Staff Writer
Five bison have died after being exposed to poison gas in a geyser basin in Yellowstone National Park.
The dead animals were discovered March 10 in the Norris Geyser Basin. They probably had been dead about a week, the National Park Service announced Tuesday.
The two adults, two calves and a yearling, were found "lying on their sides, with their feet perpendicular to their bodies," the announcement said. "The unusual position of the carcasses indicates the bison died very rapidly, as a group."
The bison probably succumbed to a combination of hydrogen sulfide and carbon dioxide emitted by nearby thermal features.
Park scientists, lead by geologist Henry Heasler, surmise the animals were grazing alongside the Gibbon River during an unusually cold and still night about March 1, when a cold front passed through the area.
The weather probably caused the steam and toxic gases to remain close to the ground and concentrate in lethal doses.
Hydrogen sulfide and carbon dioxide can accumulate in low areas when the air is still because they are denser than air.
Some of the nearby vents spewed gas that was more than 200 parts per million hydrogen sulfide, which is commonly known as "rotten egg" gas because of its distinct smell.
Humans can easily detect the gas at levels as low as one part per million and "are able to escape an area well before it reaches a toxic level," the Park Service said.
"The fairly constant wind in the Yellowstone area dilutes and disperses gases so that it would be almost unheard of for a park visitor to be overcome by toxic fumes as the bison were," the Park Service said.
Still, animals sometimes fall to the toxic gases.
There is an area known as Death Gulch in the upper Lamar River Valley where dead animals were found in the 19th century.
In 1899, a geologist found six bears, an elk and several rodents and other small creatures there. Another biologist found seven dead bears there in 1899.
Other researchers have noted the presence of deadly gases in Yellowstone over the years.

Something's
Not Quite Right In Utah-Wyoming...03/21/04
by Mitch
Battros (ECTV)
Folks, this will be a mix of science and good old intuition. Something just does not quite feel right in the states of Utah and Wyoming.
First the science. There have now been four earthquakes in two days in an area that rarely sees earthquakes at all. On March 18th a 3.3 mag and a 2.4 magnitude hit in two 'separate' locations in Utah. Then on March 19th, two 3.1 magnitude quakes hit in the exact same area.
Please note: As I understand it, the odds of two exact measurement quakes to hit in the same area is almost unheard of. The usual is a larger 'primary' quake, and then an 'aftershock'. Most often the primary quake is the largest, follow by a smaller aftershock. But sometimes the 'aftershock' can be larger. In this case, the USGS is showing the "exact" same magnitude for two separate events. A likely reason for this may be due to it not being a "natural quake" at all. Perhaps it is "man made".
I would also like to bring your attention to the fact the EMSC seismology reporting center, is not posting most of the US quakes now. This began at the exact time I disclosed through my investigation of the USGS omissions. Is this just a coincidence?
So what would make "man made" seismic events? Most likely it would be "tunnels". But why? This is were I switch hats from the scientific field, to strictly conjecture, or in simply terms, a good old "hunch".
I have become untrusting of our government reporting centers. Yes, specifically the USGS. As you know from my ongoing investigation regarding the "non-reporting" by the USGS regarding the 5.3 mag. event which occurred on Feb. 6th, and was followed by four more smaller quakes in a 300 mile radius. It was at that time, most of us heard for the first time, some of these quakes were made by mine-blast, mine collapse, or "tunneling". But why, and why now? Then right on the heels of these events, we have the mysterious death of 300 "healthy" elk, who had become "paralyzed" and later died from asphyxiation.
Due to the
suspicious nature of current events, I am making last Tuesday's
interview with Tom Reed of the Wyoming Game and Fish Department
available to everyone. We covered many areas related to the strange
elk deaths. I asked him about gases such as 'sulfur' and 'methane',
about natural toxins in the area, about a connection between seismic
events and the deaths. I asked about the secret undergound biological
testing center north of Yellowstone. NWF (National Wildlife
Federation) lately has been zeroing in on a mysterious research lab
near the north boundary of Yellowstone National Park that the Animal
and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) has been developing with
a quiet diffidence that can only be described as secretive.

Earthquakes Rattle Jackson Wyoming
By
NADIA WHITE
Star-Tribune staff writer Thursday, January 08, 2004
Four
earthquakes shook Jackson Hole in the early morning hours
Wednesday.
The first temblor at 12:57 a.m. measured 5.0 on the
Richter scale, the largest recorded in Teton County history,
according to the Wyoming State Geological Society. It was followed by
four aftershocks, all centered about 7 miles east of Kelly in the
Gros Ventre Range.
Seth Clearman, resident manager of the Red
Rock Ranch, near the epicenter of the quake, said the flurry of
quakes lasted until about 6:30 a.m.
"The first thing I
thought was, 'Where's my kid and cover his head,'" Clearman
said. "Books fell off the bookshelves, picture frames came off
the wall. Was I scared? No. I was nervous."
He
said the quake was bigger than usual and lasted longer, but he knew
what it was.
The University of Utah Seismograph Stations and
the U.S. Geological Survey's National Earthquake Information Center
reported the quake was centered east of Kelly and about 3 miles
southeast of Lower Slide Lake in the Gros Ventre River
valley.
Wednesday's earthquakes come after smaller temblors
were reported in Jackson on Dec. 30 and near Newcastle on
Sunday.
Wednesday's earthquake in Teton County did not occur
on the Teton fault, which is capable of generating a magnitude 7.5
earthquake, according to the USGS.
Jackson resident Tat
Maxwell said the first earthquake lasted five or six seconds and
started her dogs barking. Aftershocks, she said, awoke her younger
children.
"It feels like a really big truck just rambled
by on the road next to you, although there are no roads next to you.
It's weird. It's eerie," she said.
USGS reported a
magnitude 3.7 earthquake occurred at 1:27 a.m., a magnitude 4.1
earthquake occurred at 1:44 a.m., and a magnitude 4.0 earthquake
occurred at 2:23 a.m. Wednesday.
Earthquakes are common in
Teton County, though much less common in northeastern
Wyoming.
Wednesday's earthquakes were not noticeable in
Yellowstone National Park, 70 miles north of the epicenter, although
more sensitive seismic records have not yet been consulted, park
spokeswoman Cheryl Matthews said.
Grand Teton National Park
spokeswoman Jackie Skaggs said many park employees felt the quake,
but that no damage to park buildings or property, or of avalanches
triggered by the quake, had been reported.
Bob Smith, a
professor of geophysics at the University of Utah, said people
reported feeling Wednesday's quake as far from the epicenter as Cody,
Pocatello, Idaho, and southwestern Wyoming. He said earthquakes in
the Gros Ventre Range are not uncommon.
As recently as Dec.
30, an earthquake with a magnitude 3.5 occurred in the same area at
11:16 p.m.
In 1925, small earthquakes were reported to have
occurred in the same general area as the Wednesday morning quakes and
are thought to have played a role in the huge landslide that created
Landslide Lake and redirected the Gros Ventre River, according to the
Wyoming State Geological Society.
Smith, an expert on seismic
activity in Yellowstone, said it is unclear how activity in one area
might affect seismic activity on other nearby faults. But he said it
does not appear that increased heat and geothermal activity in the
Norris Basin this summer is related to tectonic or magma activity,
but may instead be due to the drought and dropping water
tables.
Newcastle gets a quake, too
On Sunday,
residents near Newcastle reported an earthquake that registered 2.1
on the Richter scale just before 8 p.m. Earthquakes are much more
unusual in northeastern Wyoming than in northwestern Wyoming,
according to state records.
Sharon Fridley said she felt the
quake and her husband heard it on their ranch, known locally as the
Old Snedecker Place, which has a fenceline on the Wyoming
stateline.
"We were just sitting in the living room and I
felt the floor start vibrating and rumbling; all the windows started
rattling. It lasted for several seconds, and I looked at my husband
and we just said, 'What was that?'"
The Fridleys are
official weather reporters for western Custer County in South Dakota,
so Sharon Fridley called the weather service to report that she
thought there'd been an earthquake.
She said the weather
service later confirmed the magnitude of the quake and said it was
centered 7 miles west of Jewel Cave, near the Wyoming state
line.
"We've experienced here on this ranch just about
everything now," Sharon Fridley said. "Fires last summer,
tornadoes, floods and now an earthquake."
Residents
living 15 miles south and west of Newcastle felt the quake as
well.

Thought
you'd be interested in this. My sister is married to a certain
geologist. He was working in the
underground caverns near New
Madrid. They are concerned of a huge quake happening in the
Midwest
like previously in 1811 & 1812. He and others were pulled from
the research and told to get
to Yellowstone ASAP. My sister told
us just 4 weeks ago that he cannot talk about it. Anyone talking
to
the media or family will be arrested and detained without counsel.
She said he and others were very
afraid. Another friend drives a
truck all over the US. He has been taking loads out of the area
and
transferring business and factory equipment to places farther
East. They won't tell him either. This has
been going on since
this past March and is picking up speed as the year comes to a close.

Brother Living In Yellowstone Area Explains Situation To His Sister
October 6, 2003 Dear Sis:
Sis,
I just haven't had time to send you the info on Yellowstone. But here
is the scoop. Yellowstone
National Park is
about to blow off the face of the Earth, and our wonderful
leaders are keeping the
whole thing squelched.
In
July the Park rangers closed the entire Norris Geyser Basin because
of the deformation of the land
and the excess temperature. There
is an area there that is 28 miles long by 7 miles wide that
has
bulged upward over five inches since 1996, and this
year the ground temperature on that bulge has
reached over 200
degrees. There was no choice but to close off the whole area.
Everything in that
area is dying. The trees, flowers, grass, etc.
A dead zone is developing and spreading
outward. The
animals are literally migrating out of the
park. This isn't hearsay. It is coming from people who have
actually visited the park in just the last few weeks.
Then
the last part of July one of the Park geologists discovered a huge
bulge at the bottom of
Yellowstone Lake. The
bulge has already risen over 100 feet from the bottom of the lake,
and the
water temperature at the surface of the bulge has reached
88 degrees and is still rising. Keep in mind
that Yellowstone Lake
is a high mountain lake with very cold water temperature. The Lake
is now
closed to the public. It is filled with dead
fish floating everywhere. The same is true of the Yellowstone river
and most of the other streams in the Park. Dead and dying fish are
filling the water
everywhere.
Many
of the picnic areas in the Park have been closed and people that are
visiting the Park don't stay
but a few hours or a day or two and
leave. The stench of sulfur is so strong that they literally can't
stand the smell.
The
irony of all this is that not one word of this is being brought to
public attention by the news media
or by our government which is
supposed to be "protecting" us. But, believe it or not,
just last week a
British newspaper broke the story about
Yellowstone National Park being "a threat to the entire
world."
Sis,
Yellowstone is what geologists call a "super volcano."
There is a massive caldera of molten fire
beneath Yellowstone
National Park. When this thing blows,
geologists are saying that every living thing within six hundred
miles is likely to die.
Yet
our wonderful news media is not telling the public a thing about
this. They
are keeping it
suppressed so that it won't effect the "economy."
To hell with the lives of
people, just protect the
pocket books of the rich. When this
things explodes it will produce an ash cloud that will cover
the
entire western U.S. clear to the Pacific on the west, British
Columbia on the north, the Mexican border
on the south, and then
out into the Dakotas, Nebraska, Kansas, Oklahoma, and Texas on the
east. And
then the cloud will blow east because of the prevailing
winds, literally covering the entire nation with
volcanic ash. And
the American people are not even being told that the explosion of
this "super
volcano" is imminent. There is no question
that this thing is going to explode momentarily. The
movement
of magma has been detected just three-tenths of a mile below the
bulging surface of the ground in Yellowstone.

I have just finished a weekend investigating the Yellowstone SuperVolcano/Caldera region, and return very impressed with what I saw and experienced. During this time of research, I spoke to locals and park rangers to better understand what has been happening here.
One man associated with the park told me how the discovery of the CALDERA'S existence came through photographs taken by NASA from space. These photos were among the first of actual confirmation proofs of the caldera and indicating it's approximate size, 40 miles by 20 miles.
Curious about reports I had been hearing that certain parts of YELLOWSTONE were now blocked off because the ground was getting hotter and dangerous to walk upon, I asked a park ranger about this. He shared how the NORRIS region of Yellowstone is experiencing this build up of heat at this time.
Park rangers also confirmed the continuing build up of pressure beneath the lake in Yellowstone, causing water to be displaced and flooding dry land. Fish are also coming up dead in some areas.
Park rangers also confirmed the reality of new mud pots and geysers springing up as well. Minor earthquakes or tremors occur here frequently.
It was an eery sensation I felt as I walked carefully over the boardwalks, beneath which are the hot mud pots and heated thermal springs. Often colored brightly from minerals deposited on its surface from the emerging heated water, these thermal pools and mud pots are located profusely throughout the CALDERA region.
It is unsafe to even walk on the "ground" around them, because often the "ground" is only a thin crust, beneath which deadly mud pots containing scalding water are located. The water or mud pots are hot enought to cause deadly damage or KILL.
Often the acid content of some of these pools can actually dissolve thick leather hiking boots ...
MAJOR EARTHQUAKES OF DESTRUCTION would definitely accompany any kind of minor or major eruption at Yellowstone, admitted the park rangers.
Further research by geologists indicates that the Yellowstone volcano erupting would have a major effect on California, Oregon and Washington and their volcanic systems and would be able to trigger the massive anticipated earthquake in California and elsewhere.
The sheer amount of ash spewed into the atmosphere from this SUPERVOLCANO would deposit 5-10 feet of ash over major parts of both America's and Canada's BREADBASKET agricultural region. This would effectively destroy the agriculture throughout this region for a long period of time. The result of this would of course be MAJOR FAMINE.
Huge amounts of ash filling our atmosphere would immediately affect the climate, effectively destroying the normal type of climate necessary for most crops to grow in many areas. Such ash filling the atmosphere could also darken the skies as well.
As I interviewed locals in Yellowstone, I discovered that most are very aware of this potential dangers they face living in this unstable area. I also discovered as I talked to them that the majority of people in West Yellowstone are VERY lost.
While there is a remnant of Christians in West Yellowstone, with whom I fellowshipped last Sunday in church, most people here remain unsaved. One woman remarked, "I don't believe in the white man's God..." as I talked about Jesus Christ. Yet in the same conversation, she admitted her fears about the Yellowstone caldera erupting, and that she lived in continual danger.
Another person in West Yellowstone admitted that there is large community of people in to Wicca, Satanism and alternate religions in nearby BOZEMAN, MT. (Mostly due to the University being there.) Bozeman would also become history when the YELLOWSTONE CALDERA erupts ...
I will continue to return to gather more information and updates regarding this fascinating and deadly subject of THE YELLOWSTONE SUPERVOLCANO and what it's implications are for AMERICA and the rest of the world.

A
Monster Awakens?
by Ian Gurney
"In the heart of America lies a monster that could destroy life on earth."
Part of America's Yellowstone National Park was closed to visitors on July 23rd. this year and remains closed today due to high ground temperatures and increased thermal activity in the park. National Park Superintendent Suzanne Lewis said that "A portion of the Norris Geyser Basin on the west side of the park has been closed."*
On August 7th. the United States Geological Survey (USGS) reported that scientists were planning to set up a temporary network of seismographs, Global Positioning System receivers and thermometers to monitor increasing hydrothermal activity in the Norris Geyser Basin and gauge the risk of a hydrothermal explosion.**
On August 10th. the Denver Post reported that Liz Morgan, a U.S. Geological Survey research geologist had discovered a huge bulge underneath Yellowstone Lake that had risen 100 feet from the lake floor. The bulge is two thousand feet long and has the potential to explode at any time. Morgan was quoted as saying that "The inflated plain is a potential and serious hazard and possible precursor to a large hydrothermal explosion event."***
Then, on August 24th. The University of Utah Seismograph Station reported that a magnitude 4.4 earthquake occurred just 9 miles southeast of the southern entrance to Yellowstone National Park. USGS scientists agreed that the earthquake was "uncommon" in that it was a very shallow earthquake, occuring just 0.3 miles below the surface.****
Jacob Lowenstern, a researcher for the U.S. Geological Survey and scientist-in-charge of the Yellowstone Volcano Observatory said: "Our goal is to understand what's driving this volcanic system, and are there indications it could be moving into a period of unrest?"
This worrying situation was confirmed on September 8th. by Dr. Bruce Cornet, a geologist and paleobotanist with the USGS, who explained: "Steam pressure is apparently building again in Yellowstone, and hydrothermal fluids and steam are working their way up through fractures and vents. If more steam vents appear, that means a continuous pathway for pressure release has been established to the magma chamber. If that happens, the pressure in the magma chamber will continue to drop until it reaches a critical stage when the superheated water within the magma explodes. Unfortunately, as the steam venting subsides, there will be a false sense of security. People will think it was just another cyclical event, and the danger is over. But that will be the farthest from the truth. It will be the quiet before the storm."
Initially this should be of little or no consequence to anyone apart from those planning to visit Yellowstone.....................except for one thing. Lurking beneath Yellowstone National Park is one of the most destructive natural phenomena in the world - a massive supervolcano.
Only a handful exist in the world but when one erupts the explosion will be heard around the globe. The sky will darken, black acid rain will fall, and the Earth will be plunged into the equivalent of a nuclear winter. It could push humanity to the brink of extinction.
Volcanoes have always been a threat to humanity. The Tambora eruption in Indonesia in 1815 killed more than 90,000 people, while the Krakatau eruption in 1883, also in Indonesia, killed 36,000. The last supervolcano to erupt was Toba in Sumatra 74,000 years ago. It created a global catastrophe that dramatically affected life on Earth. Toba blasted so much ash and sulphur dioxide into the stratosphere that it blocked out the sun, causing the Earth's temperature to plummet, and possibly reducing the population on Earth to just a few thousand people. For a long time scientists have known that volcanic ash can affect the global climate. The fine ash and sulphur dioxide blasted into the stratosphere reflects solar radiation back into space and stops sunlight reaching the planet. Temperatures drop dramatically and nothing grows, causing mass starvation.
Bill McGuire, professor of geohazards at the Benfield Greig Hazard Research Centre at University College London, says that America's Yellowstone Park is one of the largest and most dangerous supervolcanoes in the world. "The Yellowstone volcano can be likened to a sleeping dragon," says Professor McGuire, "whose slow breathing brings repeated swelling and sinking of the Earth's crust in northern Wyoming and southern Montana."
Professor McGuire went on to explain that: "Many supervolcanoes are not typical hill-shaped structures but huge, collapsed craters called "calderas" that are filled with hot magma and are harder to detect. The Yellowstone supervolcano was detected in the Sixties when infra-red satellite photographs revealed a magma-filled caldera 85km long and 45km wide. It has been on a regular eruption cycle of 600,000 years. The last eruption was 640,000 years ago, so the next is long overdue."
Volcanologists have been tracking the movement of magma under the park and have calculated that in parts of Yellowstone the ground has risen over seventy centimetres, almost two and a half feet, since 1923, indicating a massive swelling underneath the park.
"The impact of a Yellowstone eruption is terrifying to comprehend." says Professor McGuire. "Magma would be flung 50 kilometres into the atmosphere. Within a thousand kilometres virtually all life would be killed by falling ash, lava flows and the sheer explosive force of the eruption. One thousand cubic kilometres of lava would pour out of the volcano, enough to coat the whole of the USA with a layer 5 inches thick. The explosion would be the loudest noise heard by man for 75,000 years."
The long-term effects would be even more devastating. The thousands of cubic kilometres of ash that would shoot into the atmosphere would block out light from the sun, making global temperatures collapse. This is called a nuclear winter. A large percentage of the world's plant life would be killed by the ash and the drop in temperature. The resulting change in the world's climate would devastate the planet, and scientists know that another eruption is due - they just don't know when.
Michael Rampino, a geologist at New York University, quoted in a BBC Horizon documentary on Supervolcanoes three years ago explained: "It's difficult to conceive of an eruption this big. It's really not a question of if it'll go off, it's a question of when, because sooner or later one of these large super eruptions will happen."
Professor McGuire says "There's nowhere to hide from the effects of a supervolcano. One day - perhaps tomorrow, perhaps in fifty years, perhaps in 10,000 - it will erupt; once again wreaking devastation across the North American continent and bringing the bitter cold of Volcanic Winter to Planet Earth. Mankind may become extinct."
So the rumblings currently going on underneath Yellowstone should be a warning not just to those who plan to visit the National Park, but to the whole world. If the increased thermal activity is the precursor to an eruption event, we may well be on the brink of the biggest catastrophe the modern world has ever witnessed.

Dr. Bruce Cornet's recent analysis of Yellowstone Super-Volcano
Mt. Sheriden has been rumbling (15+ micro-quakes) between 1:00 pm and now (9/7/03). There were three small earthquakes at Yellowstone lake between 10:00 am and 1:00 pm MT (9/7/03), which were felt at Norris Junction. There were some small quakes between Midnight and 6:00 am (9/7/03) at Norris Junction. There was a whole string of micro-quakes (25 or more) at Madison River between 6:00 am and now, which are continuing. There have been sporadic micro-quakes (32+) all day at Mammoth Hot Springs. Micro-quakes started around Noon and have continued to the present at Mirror Lake Plateau. All in all, activity is picking up from a lull for about two weeks, before which a series of small and large quakes (including a 4.4) occurred. That quake prompted the web report.
Steam pressure is apparently building again, and hydrothermal fluids and steam are working their way up through fractures and vents. I do not expect anything unusual or extreme to happen in the immediate future, but if the trend continues, and the number of earthquakes gradually increase with time, more warnings from geologists will ensue.
What you should be alert to is any report that mentions increasing geyser activity, with new fumaroles and steam vents appearing near or on top of the rising dome. The dome has risen about three feet in the past few years, and magma has risen to within 3.7 km of the surface based on quake data. Earthquake loci measured to within 0.5 km under Mt. St. Helens, and people still didn't think it would erupt.
But everything has to be scaled up for Yellowstone, meaning that 3.7 km is not a safe depth. Ground temperatures in the northwestern part of the park are apparently on the rise (up to 200 dg F in some places), killing the vegetation. Large areas of the park are now closed, including areas with geysers, because their water temperature is now scalding and dangerous for visitors.
If more steam vents appear, that means a continuous pathway for pressure release has been established to the magma chamber. If that happens, the pressure in the magma chamber will continue to drop until it reaches a critical stage when the superheated water within the magma explodes. When that happens the super-volcano will blow violently, blowing out a chunk of its cap-rock and sending millions of cubic feet of ash into the atmosphere in a Pompeii-like explosion, but 100,000 times worse.
When you hear those reports, you will have about two days to “get out of Dodge” before the eruption. Unfortunately, as the steam venting subsides, there will be a false sense of security. People will think it was just another cyclical event, and the danger is over. But that will be the farthest from the truth. It will be the quiet before the storm. A major earthquake will suddenly rock their towns for hundreds of kilometers around Yellowstone, and soon thereafter 1,000+ degree pyroclastic flows will descend on them at hundreds of miles per hour, extending out to 600+ km.
That 600 km radius around the caldera will experience total devastation. The next 600 km out may receive as much as 5-10 feet of ash, depending on wind direction. The thickness of ash will decrease away from the super-volcano, but will reach the crop belt in the Midwest (Missouri, Iowa, Kansas, Nebraska, etc.), destroying most of the fertile croplands of the United States. California will be hit hard by falling ash, with its central wine valley severely damaged (the French will love it). Agriculture will have to shift east of the Mississippi for years. The Garden State will once again live up to its name.
In northern Idaho you will have to contend with several feet of ash and isolation. Roads will be closed. Power will be out. Phones will be out. Communication will depend on Ham radios and local stations that have generators. Rescue will take weeks or months. Some areas will never see rescue teams. The survivalists will be best prepared to make it through the difficult months following the eruption. Make new friends. Have plenty of dust masks on hand, because you cannot breath any airborne ash if you want to avoid lung disease. It's what caused mass kills of plains animals 12 million years ago, resulting in extensive bone beds beneath the ash. Drinkable water will sell at the price of gold.
To recap, I don't expect anything to happen in the near future. But with such an unpredictable event, being prepared is your best ticket to survival."

ENV-CRISIS] 9-8-03
I have been not wanting to post about the recent quake increase at Yellowstone until I was sure. Starting last Thursday, I noticed an increase in several things on the seismos around yellowstone.
1)
Previously 'quiet' mountains are starting to show small EQs
(Earthquakes)
2) 'Flatline' vibrations are increasing
3)
Glacier Peak is showing an increase in local EQs
4) Several
seismos are 'in sync' with each other regarding readings (usually
indicates a deep quake effecting sevaral mountians)
5) Nearby
states are showing an increase in EQs
6) The quakes are starting
to be 'long and drawn out' instead of your typical 3-5 min
shakers.
7) Usually quiet seismos are showing 'micro spikes'.
Now new warnings are coming out.
From Mitch Battros - Earth Changes TV
"Mt. Micro-quakes started around Noon and have continued to be present at Mirror Lake Plateau.
St. Helens, and people still didn´t think it would erupt.
A major earthquake will suddenly rock their towns for hundreds of kilometers around Yellowstone, and soon thereafter 1,000+ degree pyroclastic flows will descend on them at hundreds of miles per hour, extending out to 600+ km (373 miles).
California will be hit hard by falling ash, with its central wine valley severely damaged ....
ItNT COLOR="#336699">To recap, I don´t expect anything to happen in the near future.
