This will not be your typical exercise in Catholic bashing nor will it be a protestant witch hunt against the Catholic Church. Organized Christianity, Catholic, Protestant, and Orthodox each have their own peculiarities and doctrinal errors which are dutifully pointed out, one by another. This is usually done to bolster the accusers doctrinal position, for political or at times monetary reasons. To be sure some of these doctrinal eccentricities are more dangerous than others. Yet some while seemingly rather harmless are more dangerous than those that on the surface appear to be false after just a cursory glance.
One need only look at popular movies that look at the Catholic Church, especially in light of the protestant reformation, to see that the Catholic Church was and is a potent popular symbol of religious corruption, hypocrisy and ill gotten wealth. While these images tell some important truths they do not tell the whole truth, nor do they delve into the real struggles that took place after the reformation. That struggle being between a Christian view of the world and a purely secular one. That is, a world view in which no God exists and one where man is his own master, judge and far too often executioner. This view of our cosmos is one where there is no room for God or Christianity. In this secular view, the morality set forth in the gospels is merely wishful thinking and as one Marxist put it, the opiate of the masses.
With this 'new world' view a new pseudo religion needed to be created. This religion is called science. Its foundational basis as it is popularly portrayed is that of the scientist working tirelessly to uncover the truths of our universe using purely empirical data carefully collated and analyzed, while fighting the 'ignorance' of religious personages, most clearly identified with the Church. There is no question that scientific discovery has been the driving force of the 19th and 20th century. From a time when men traveled by horseback to get from place to pace to a time when air and space travel are commonplace, scientific discovery has taken man on great strides technologically. Yet, while man can boast a myriad of these kinds of achievements, the reality is that his soul, his innermost being is still lost and suffering. One need only look at suicide rates among, not the poor and uneducated in the third world, but by the rich in affluent western nations to see that something fundamental is missing inside mankind that wealth, science and technology cannot fill.
It is this divide; spanning the spiritual, political and economic arena's that needs to be addressed in terms that are accessible to all, for in its explanation can be found the root and origin of mans propensity for violence and self destruction. It is this divide that Christ identified to men nearly two millennium ago. The questions are spiritual and existential and herein lies the questions that will haunt man more incessantly over the coming decades, for they promise to be one of enormous change and containing the seeds of horrific conflict as man's probation on earth come to its rapid conclusion.
It is in this context rather than the typical strictly biblical look (to which many of my readers are used to) that this article will look at the Catholic Church, the reign of John Paul II and coming global system of government that is being thrust upon the inhabitants of the earth. It will be a look at a man whose entire life seemed to groom him for the monumental tasks and challenges that his papacy entailed.
I personally was genuinely saddened by the Pope's passing. I am not a Catholic nor am I in sympathy with the unscriptural additions that Catholicism has added to the simplicity of the Gospel. I will not delve into nor elaborate on those doctrines for time's sake. Suffice it to say that the divide between Catholic, Protestant and Orthodox are real and cannot be papered over by any ecumenical council. However, the real possibility of a massive Christian 'apostosia' bringing together many religions in the near future is not impossible. In fact, the signs of it are everywhere in modern Christianity. It was John Paul's strict conservative views inside the Catholic Church that confounded many liberals who wanted to find common ground with other like-minded liberals in the other two major branches of Christianity. It was these views that found favor with many evangelicals, including myself those being;
No abortion (Murder)
No gay marriage (Sodomy)
No easy divorces (God Hates This)
Harsh Condemnation of Communism (Atheism)
No women ministers (Clearly delineated in the scriptures)
Harsh criticism of Western Materialism and licentiousness (Mammon)
Assisting the poor in Africa, Asia and South America (Commanded By God)
It was these issues that not only confounded the liberals in his Church but the secular humanists that look upon Catholicism as being terribly our of step with the times and increasingly irrelevant in the fast paced nations of Western Europe and America. This observation was repeated regularly in intellectual periodicals that commented on the Pope's passing. In some of these commentaries, the sighs of exasperation could be heard in the fading hope that a liberal pontiff may come to power and put his papal blessing on their side of the afore mentions social issues, especially abortion, gay marriage, and divorce as these issues separate Christianity from the secular world; or to put it in more ecclesiastical terms, that separate the saved from the unsaved. The secular world, not acknowledging its own spiritual condition, does not see the need for the moral and spiritual absolutisms that has come to typify conservative Christianity; Catholic or Protestant.
Liberalism (secularism) however has sought to control the Catholic Church and has placed its own disciples inside the Church to bring it under its sway. It is the liberals of today who want to undermine Christian morality in favor of the moral and spiritual basis; mystical, secular and philosophical that brought us the Third Reich, Stalin's Russia and Mao's million man purge.
These systems too rejected Christian morality and set up their respective states and leaders as being replacement figures for God and acted as the supreme moral authority for their nations. They murdered tens of millions of people. The Catholic Church has been the target number one of liberalism (also called enlightenment in the 18th Century). This movement saw as its duty to break the power of the Church and with it any organized recognition of Christ and God. These were to be replaced by reason, occult mysticism, and social Darwinism (kill the weak) which was so evident in the National Socialism movement that took Germany by storm in the 1930's. The two systems, liberalism and Christianity are diametrically opposed in key respects. While liberalism will accept Buddhism, Taoism, and other eastern religious systems it cannot and will not stomach the message of the Gospel, primarily because of the moral absolutisms that are at the heart of its doctrines. Liberals want the freedom to kill their babies, to kill their brothers if they have something the liberals want; they want the freedom to break their marriage vows and contracts and to lie and steal with reckless abandon. The presence of a powerful institution that categorically rejects these morals is intolerable to them and thus they have been on the offensive against Roman Catholicism as well as other forms of Conservative Christianity since before the French Revolution. That revolution was a key turning point in the history of 'enlightenment' and its blood-stained hands are still with us today.
These issues will divide Conservative Christianity from the rest of the world. Christianity believes in good and evil. The two are real and inescapable realities and one in which Christianity clearly and uncompromisingly identifies the actions that compose each. The world on some level accepts the existence of good and evil but these concepts are neither clear nor concrete, but rather are transitory, conditional and situational. However it must be made clear here that Conservative Christianity as referred to here is not that heretical Christian-dominionism that has overtaken the American 'religious-right', but rather the simplicity power of the original Gospel, its call to love, justice, peace , righteousness and truth as well as truthfulness; its call for moral purity and its hope. This Gospel will always come into conflict with the world as it bears witness to the light and once that is done men see that their works on wrought in darkness.
The light of Christianity is the counter of the world system, it is the kingdom of God that is not of this world. It is a wholly spiritual kingdom that will come with power to be manifested by all, but not until the return of Christ. A genuine Church is, in essence, God's own counter-culture of love and truth.
The sadness I felt at the Pope's passing was one that acknowledged the serious doctrinal errors of Catholicism but knows that God and his Christ have many sheep that are in that fold and while it is far from perfect, it does bear God's name and is the most visible symbol of Christianity on planet earth. Many like to dismiss the Pope as an apostate leader of an apostate Church. This is not altogether true. The basic tenets of the Christian faith are present in Catholicism. That Christ came in the flesh and rose from the dead in the flesh and will come again to judge the world
Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God: And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.
There is no question that outside of the basics of the faith Roman Catholicism has added so many doctrines, many coming from paganism and the ancient mystery religions, that is is very difficult to get to the basics tenets of the faith. Thus, I am personally very careful when judging the entire Roman Church as being utterly apostate, that used to be my view until I was reminded by the LORD that it was he who was the judge not me and it was he who tries the reigns of the heart, not sinful me.
The battle between liberalism1 and the gospel was not new to John Paul. He knew the horrors of Nazism. He lived under it in Poland when the Nazi's invaded. He ran a small theater troupe that still held performances in secret during those dark days. He knew what totalitarianism was and experienced it under both the Nazi's and the Communists. He was forced to operate under the Godless communist state and still rose to be an important leader of the Polish Church. At times he used the Church for underground anti-communist activities. Thus Karol Wojtyla was fully aware of the mechanisms of totalitarianism and knew how to carefully operate under its rule. He also understood its key weaknesses and when he emerged from the Sistine Chapel on 1978 after the cardinals deliberations as Pope John Paul II. The Communist world had a shrewed and knowledgeable adversary ruling the Vatican and he would use his knowledge to assist those who were under its rule. John Paul was fully appraised of the evil that lurked in the political and economic system called Communism and was determined to do what he could to end its reign of terror, not just for Poland but for all who suffered under it.
He would prove to be a pivotal figure that assisted, more than most ordinary people know, in the downfall of Communism and the fall of the Berlin Wall. It was Pope John Paul, whose name is not usually mentioned when giving credit to the demise of Soviet Communism, that was largely responsible. He closely coordinated his activities to assist the solidarity movement, without this help the job would probably have taken much longer or only have been brought about with bloodshed.2
The Pontiff knew of the competing forces for Globalization the Western style Capitalists and the central planed states of Eastern Europe. It was the backdrop of this game, which on many levels is still being played out today, that is shaping our globe. Even today, mighty forces are at work to turn back the tide of Western Style 'democratization', which in actually only accepts 'democracy' if it falls under the heels of its key proponents; America and its global corporations. It was this highly subjective and self serving view of 'democracy' that was unacceptable to the John Paul's Vatican. This skeptical view was held for many reasons, but suffice it to say that democracy is a Greek and western tradition, not a biblical one. Man's fallen nature precludes correct decisions. Even if democracy were properly practiced on earth, and it isn't ... anywhere, least of all in the nation that is its most vocal proponent, democratic governments would still have enormous problems of governance. Democracies are still full of political corruption, vote fraud and wars that the voters do not want and other social ills are not passing issues but real ones, entrenched, with real human consequences.
The Pope knew this and also knew that real decision making is done often many times removed from those citizens that are granted the right to vote by the State, thus limiting and sometimes negating the input of the masses of people. Hence the Vatican sought a different road to the so-called 'new world order'. This order is coming and the Church recognized this important fact and realized that it must influence its formation as much as possible or be destroyed by it.
Indeed, it was with this so-called 'democratic' behemoth of America that the Pope reserved some of his most strongly worded statements saying that the 'War of Aggression' cried out for God's Vengeance. Indeed, the Pope spend a great deal of political capital on his antiwar efforts. Even after the invasion he was tireless in his denunciation of the American religious rights3 mindless war calling the conditions it left for ordinary Iraqi's deplorable. Antiwar activists the world over (like this writer) applauded the Pope for his stand against America's wicked international aggression, the very crime that Hitlers henchmen were tried for after the Second World War.
Yet the Pope's Pontificate was not without its failures. The Pope's response to the child abuse scandals was tepid to say the least and in the minds of many did not go nearly far enough. Yet and still, while there were many children who were abused by Priests, there were also many whose claims of abuse only seemed to arise when they caught a whiff of cold hard cash and saw a means to acquire it via false accusations leveled at an already scandalized Church. How and why this Pope decided not to be more proactive and mete out harsher penalties for those clergymen who were involved has become a matter of all kinds of speculation. The most persistent of which is that powerful individuals who have enormous power in the US media were attempting to blackmail the Church into a course of action it did not want to take and decided to make the Church pay for its refusal to do as it was told.
The Catholic Church is in crisis. There is no doubt about that. Yet the crisis that Liberal writers and newspaper pundits write about are not where the Church has its real problems. These writers point to the centralization of power by the Pontiff. This is a codeword. What they are saying is that they do not want the Church to be conservative and hold on the the moral absolutes that are given in the Bible. What they want is to have the liberals in the local Churches do those things that undermine the faith and clear Christian teaching without any rebuke or control from Rome. In essence they are seeking to find spiritual termites that will undermine the foundations of the Church. One observer said that the Holy See needed to be more open to change, (Lavinia Byrne). She believes that the Church, if it is to tackle rising secularism needs to change. She goes on to discuss contraception, celibacy, and the ordination of women. Others want to have the Church accept Sodomy as a normal way of life. Ultimately, these are the voices of rank apostasy. They are calling the Church not to be a light in a dying world but rather to embrace the darkness and be like everyone else. The Church leader picked next must deal with these pending social issues. It is unclear how much influence liberals have and where the Church will go next, but a slight turn to the left seems to be the more likely result.
But John Paul's Pope's conservatism did not stop him from being a man of his times. The Pope used a laptop, praised the new tools that technology brought us and put many of his speeches, papers and other materials on line for all to read. This type of modernization was readily embraced by John Paul, it is the social modernization (apostasy) that is antithetical to Christian faith that he rejected. Indeed, the Church as it is described in the New Testament is not a democracy. It does not take a vote to see what doctrines it will accept this week and which ones it will jettison. It is probably this simple fact above others, that many outside the Church and in liberal circles has such deep problems with. God is not a democrat; he is God and he rules. The entire spiritual battle that is ensuing today is one that ultimately can be described as a contest for universal rulership. Rebellion caused satan to want to be like God and he has his billions of servants on earth, witting and unwitting, who are also in rebellion against God. God calls us to reconciliation to himself. But this reconciliation comes only with an acknowledgment of man's sinfulness and Christ's ultimate sovereignty over our lives. This is heresy to liberalism, it is diametrically opposed to its philosophical underpinnings. Thus, when liberals comment on the Church and its purpose, it is not a biblical view but a purely secular one. It is a view that says, 'how can we get the Church to serve our needs rather than God's commands'?
Other problems loom on the horizon for the the church. One is the loss of appeal in Europe among working people. The fear is that if it loses European women as well, that it will seriously undermine its future and relevance in the West. Its dependence on the west to finance its activities is real as its appeal to the third world grows, so does the need to finance its programs there. Its financial problems many believe stem from the divide that separates what the Church preaches, especially in the areas of Sexuality that is turning off many catholics and separates Church doctrine from the actual lifestyles of ordinary Catholics. This is the cry of liberals as they seek to change the Church. To be sure this is a serious problem, but one that cannot be reconciled by changing the Church. It is more than just a little arguable that the reason so many young people are turning to the Catholic Church in Europe is a direct response to the moral, ethical and spiritual nihilism that is now all the rage in the west. Young people are looking for purpose and answers to their existential questions. Changing the Church to fit in with the philosophical confusion that makes up the secular world is not the answer, though those who seek to destroy the Church will say that it is.
However, a more pressing problem the Church faces is a fiscal one. The Vatican is consistently reporting operating deficits. There are many causes for this and some of stems from a large Vatican staff and some of it is due to the expanded diplomatic activity that John Paul's reign brought. Others fiscal problems felt by the Vatican stem from financial losses in the financial markets. But some of it comes from legal fees and civil payouts that are approaching $1 Billion from the child sex abuse scandals in America. Some of the US Archdiocese are seeking protection in bankruptcy court. All of this coupled with declining donations is hurting the Church at a time when it is having large success in the third world.
One things John Paul did early in his reign was to order an annual financial disclosure the help stop swirling rumors of the Churches 'immense wealth'. This may also have had something to do with the Banco Ambrosio Scandal and well founded rumors that his predecessor John Paul the First, whose reign only lasted 33 days, was murdered because of his insistence in uncovering a massive banking scandal at the Vatican Bank. This coupled with John Paul I's view if of a simpler Christian religion dedicated to the poor was not in keeping with the corporate side of the Vatican. It is widely suspected based on painstaking research, that he was about to make sweeping, mind numbing changes inside the the Vatican's financial bureaucracy and this was intolerable to many. For more on this, David Yallop's 'In God's Name' should be read.
The Catholic Church's next pontiff will have to keep a keen eye on finances as he tries to keep his European adherents while continuing to support efforts in the third world. These and other challenges will face the pontiff as the Church comes to terms with its place in the 21st century and deals with its many powerful enemies who want to see it destroyed.
Many writers, prophecy 'experts', anti-catholic religious writers point to the Catholic Church as being the epitome of false religion. They point out (correctly) to many of the mystery religions and cults influence on Catholic rituals and doctrines. The ancient mystery religions are prevalent and unmistakable and even many catholic writers and prelates have written and commented on them. It is no small matter and concerns many Christians, both inside and outside the Roman Church. For those of you who are not familiar with these mysteries and how they have weaved their way into catholicism one should read, 'The Two Babylons' by Alexander Hislop or 'Babylon Mystery Religion' by Ralph Woodrow. These authors both do a decent job of uncovering some of the serious problems that exist in Roman Catholicism. Yet, while these writers are correct in their well documented exposition of the serious errors that exist in Rome, they do not go into some other more serious errors going on inside Protestantism. These errors may not make as interesting reading unless one really enjoys reading about financial malfeasance, religious cults who fund and control a plethora of America's top TV evangelists, homosexuality in the Churches and even in the pulpits and church leadership that not only leaves this sins un-reproved but often excuses and permits them! No, such a book would be attacked by the religious-right and their heretical dominionist sycophants as being a 'liberal attack'. It would not be well received and may not even get to the bookstores. This is because the big mega-corporations that put this President in office (which include America's biggest media organizations) may not like the religious right, but are dependent on them for the political support they give to their dearly purchased President. Thus Protestants will not accept nor believe that the same spirit that has corrupted the doctrines of the Catholics is having enormous success at, not only corrupting the protestants, but also in brining enormous hatred upon genuine Christians in the process, thus serving the devils interests quite well for it is he that seeks to persecute the saints.
Indeed the activities of American 'religious-right' in the past cast a dark shadow over truthfulness of its doctrines. It has always served the interests of the power elite in America. During the Civil Right era, it was notable pastors and televangelists that supported segregation4 and continued racial hatred. Yet the scriptures speak clearly that in Gods house
Where there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcision nor uncircumcision, Barbarian, Scythian, bond nor free: but Christ is all, and in all.
This flies in the face of doctrines that were preached then and now by many is the so called religious right regarding loving ones brother rather than denigrating and hating him. Many of the pastors of that era were donning white sheets and burning crosses on the Saturday night before the Sunday Sermon5. Even today some of the schools run by the so-called Christian right still practice various from of ethnic discrimination. Some discouraging blacks from attending their churches and educational facilities and others preventing 'inter-racial' marriage. Let us keep in mind some salient facts. It was US industrialists that funded the White Supremacist's Nazi movement, Industrialists of which the current President's grandfather played a key role. It was these interests combined that have consistently held a racial view of 'Aryan' superiority. Freemasonry6, the religious right, certain American Industrialists and ethnic hatred have a long and bloody history as they walked hand in hand in America. The seeds of hate do reside still quite clearly and immovably in certain sectors of the religious-right. Their spokesman and national leadership has few (I personally know of none) non-white leaders. And many look narrowly upon and denigrate of Black political leadership in America. Many carefully move into predominantly white suburbs to get away from 'those people' because their neighborhoods are too 'dark'. This is Christian love and charity as only the devil can practice it. One must wonder what Bible they are reading from. I read recently that they have recently discovered an ancient copy of the The Gospel According To Judas, perhaps they have an advance copy and are preaching from it on Sunday mornings.
Some time ago I had an article on my site called Is America Babylon? It was and is by far the best expose on who the real Mystery Babylon is, as it is described in the book of Revelation. It is an excellent and extremely revealing look at this most important of subjects. So what is Babylon and do the Catholics fill the parameters of this evil system? The answer is not a simple yes or no. This is primarily because the exact same spirit7 that has and is corrupting both Rome and America is at work. They are not two spirits, they are the same and this spiritual stronghold leaves a consistent and easily recognizable trail of evidence. Like a serial killer who always follows that same pattern, so it is with the spirit of Babylon. An earlier article was done by this author some time ago, it can be found here. So it is a gross over-simplification to cast all Catholics, Americans and Protestants8 as 'Babylonian apostates', though such a statement carries with it an extremely important truth. That truth is simply that this evil spiritual entity is in control or at the very lest has enormous influence on each of the afore mentioned institutions.
Thus many protestant writers miss important clues as to where and how the final manifestation of the Last Days system will come into being. Yes It is extremely likely that the Roman Church will play a key role. So, is she Mystery Babylon or is she the False Prophet or is she none of these?
Well, the idea of the pontiff as the False Prophet has gained a lot of adherents. Many think that this is the ultimate role that the Church will play in the last days. Let us all remember that it is the False Prophet and not the seven-headed, ten-horned Beast that causes all to receive the mark of the Beast.
And I beheld another beast coming up out of the earth; and he had two horns like a lamb, and he spake as a dragon. And he exerciseth all the power of the first beast before him, and causeth the earth and them which dwell therein to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed. And he doeth great wonders, so that he maketh fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men, And deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the beast; saying to them that dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast, which had the wound by a sword, and did live. And he had power to give life unto the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed. And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads: And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name. Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six.
As we can see from the above verses of scripture the false prophet is a very scary, very powerful and quite satanic entity. It is unclear to this author if the false prophet is a singular man or if it is a system (religious/political). Doubts arise insofar as beasts are always depicted in prophetic symbols as kingdoms/empires, not people and this particular beast has two horns. Horns always denote kingly power. More on this subject can be found on this article called Ten Kings And The False Prophet.
This certainly does not mean that another personage (Pope) cannot come onto the scene from the Roman Church and mislead many. Indeed, the Vatican's role in Israel and its clear goal of controlling the ground on which the ancient Jewish temple sat has made many a prophecy 'expert' conclude, perhaps prematurely, that these facts make it a certainty that is the Vatican (or the last Pope) that is set to become the false prophet of the last days. Indeed, many believe that the Vatican did receive that control when the new millennium began as terms of a secret agreement worked out by the Pope, Peres, Arafat and Clinton. So today, the US religious right (consisting of differing shades of dominionists, often controlled by Freemasons), the Vatican, Islam and Freemasonry9 have all set their sites on the Temple mount as having great importance to their respective religious systems. This means that the Vatican has gained an enormous advantage over others in their quest for the 'holy grail' of the Temple mount. If so, this is probably the strongest evidence of their coming role in the affairs that will surround the false messiah, antichrist, false prophet, seven-headed beast and Mystery Babylon. Time will certainly tell and it seems as well that any move by the Vatican will and must include apostate protestantism (denominational) as well. Will protestantism accept the Pope as some sort of spiritual leader? That is the real question that has plagued many students of prophecy and a more important question than those that are generally asked by students of prophecy. If all the above belief systems can come to agreement on the Temple Mount and endorse someone with great political power, then it would seem clear that Rome would fulfill an important role in the prophetic picture as a dark color on the spiritual canvass of the end times. Yet that darkness would be joined by the other false systems that embraced such an endorsement.
At this point in time it is not possible to say who will actually gain control of the Temple mount. Israel today is incredibly dependent on the US administration for its security. The Administration of President Bush main bulwark of support (outside of the corporations) is the protestant religious right and they too are very vocal about their part in the final disposition of the Temple Mount. Thus any further speculation is somewhat counterproductive until that final act to the prophetic 'play' actually begins.
I cannot leave you without mentioning this most interesting man and his much talked about prophecy. He lived back in the 12th Century and made a prophecy of all of the Pope's that would reign until the end of the age. Here is a small excerpt from the Catholic Encyclopedia.
The most famous and best known prophecies about the popes are those attributed to St. Malachy. In 1139 he went to Rome to give an account of the affairs of his diocese to the pope, Innocent II, who promised him two palliums for the metropolitan Sees of Armagh and Cashel. While at Rome, he received (according to the Abbé Cucherat) the strange vision of the future wherein was unfolded before his mind the long list of illustrious pontiffs who were to rule the Church until the end of time. The same author tells us that St. Malachy gave his manuscript to Innocent II to console him in the midst of his tribulations, and that the document remained unknown in the Roman Archives until its discovery in 1590 (Cucherat, "Proph. de la succession des papes", ch. xv). They were first published by Arnold de Wyon, and ever since there has been much discussion as to whether they are genuine predictions of St. Malachy or forgeries. The silence of 400 years on the part of so many learned authors who had written about the popes, and the silence of St. Bernard especially, who wrote the "Life of St. Malachy", is a strong argument against their authenticity, but it is not conclusive if we adopt Cucherat's theory that they were hidden in the Archives during those 400 years.
Now rather than give you a list of all the Popes I will tell you what he said about John Paul and his reign.
“De labore Solis”
This means “of the eclipse of the sun, or from the labour of the sun”
History of the reign of John Paul II.: Karol Wojtyla was born on May 18, 1920 during a solar eclipse. He also comes from behind the former Iron Curtain (the East, where the Sun rises). He might also be seen to be the fruit of the intercession of the Woman Clothed with the Sun labouring in Revelation 12 (because of his devotion to the Virgin Mary). His Funeral occurred on 8 April, 2005 when there was a solar eclipse visible in the Americas.
You be the Judge, I will not comment other than to say this. There is only one more pope to come according to Malachy and perhaps (opinions differ here) another. Who are they and how do we recognize them? I cannot say but here is what Malachy said, click here.
We all should watch and pray as the next Pope takes the stage. This is not small matter especially in light of the times. Let is not concentrate on the faults of others, but rather our own, for no one will be saved because they correctly pointed out another's faults but by acknowledging and renouncing his own. So please, I ask you not to write me with your anti-catholic links and articles. Chances are very good I have already read them or are familiar with what they are saying. This article was not intended to reinforce anyone anti-catholic hatred and feelings of spiritual superiority and self-righteousness but rather to look at what is going on in the world in relation to the Catholic Church. I am not soft on Catholic errors as some of you may charge me with after reading this, it is just that I am just as harsh with my criticism of American Christianity as I am with the Roman Church.
Yet brothers and sisters, let us never give into the seductive voices of hatred who sound reasonable at first but whose fruit is always death. Let Christian readers of this rather pray for the Catholic Church and individuals in the Church who are lost as well as the lost souls who populate the religious right and get off their spiritual high-horses and love one another as you are commanded to do. For if you have not love then you are lost indeed.
I remember a line from a move I saw years ago, it had Robert DeNiro playing the devil and in it the scriptwriter gave him a line that went something like this (paraphrased);
“I give men just enough religion to get them to hate one another but not enough to make them love”
As Shakespeare once said 'Can the devil speak true?' No, but some scriptwriters can.
Here are two audio interviews readers may find interesting. They are an interview with a Catholic Priest on the Death of the Pope and where he thinks the Church is heading. It is an extremely interesting interview and non-Catholic listeners will learn much about what is going on inside the Church and how many Catholics view the coming Antichrist. The interviews were conducted by Kathleen Keating.
In Christ Jesus,

1Liberalism as described here is not the classic conservative vs liberals we have in the American political scene. Both of these movements are liberal insofar as they reject Christ centered government, worship at the altar of mammon and science and are wholly secular in their world views... with some notable exceptions.
2Many believe that this was the reason the the KGB ordered him assassinated. But this author does not believe that the KGB ordered his death nor do his decades long contacts. The KGB never hired out for those kinds of assassinations and are not known for ordering hits on world figures. The potential for retaliation and backlash was too great and it simply was not part of their known 'tradecraft'. The real culprit for the Pope's assassination probably did not lie in Moscow. Others have suggested that other Eastern European governments or even certain members of the Vatican who were quickly marginalized by Wojtyla upon his ascension to power. These elements are long known to have ties to the Mafia, illicit banking, Masonic Lodges and other criminal and intelligence networks.
3It is this political movement that is as much to blame for is crime of international aggression as any other American institution. If there is any organization that has shown the evils of spiritual adultery and the lies, death and theft that comes from that illicit union, it is the American Religious Right.
4These same religious movements in the past supported slavery and used violence and murder to perpetuate it before and during the Civil War.
5Let us not forget that the KKK actually claimed to represent the rights of 'White Christians' as they burned lynched and murdered their way across the south.
